The man was startled by Su Qing’s gaze and scoffed, "Don’t think I’ll be scared just because you look at me like that, I’m not easily frightened."
"Just follow me obediently. You’re not quite what I prefer, but you’ll do, you’re barely a sight for sore eyes."
Su Qing’s expression darkened as the man reached out again, she grabbed his hand and kicked his legs forcefully, bringing the man to his knees on the ground.
Only then did the man realize that the woman in front of him was not to be trifled with. He quickly got up from the ground and ran off into the distance. Su Qing’s expression remained grim as she raised her right hand and shot a few Silver Needles into the man’s ankle. The man only felt a burst of severe pain and did not think much of it but wasn’t aware that these few needles would gradually cripple his legs until he was eventually paralyzed and bedridden.
Su Qing withdrew her gaze and turned around, Feng Bai leaped up with joy from the cold bus stop and exclaimed, "Su Qing, Su Qing, Su Qing."
She kept calling out, non-stop, and flung herself into Su Qing’s embrace, crying pitifully, "Su Qing, they’ve all been bullying me, I’ve been so cold and hungry, I’ve waited for you for so long, I wanted to find you, but I couldn’t, what should I do?"
Su Qing lifted her head and patted Feng Bai’s back, "It’s okay now, it’s okay."
"Su Qing, can you take me away from here? I don’t want to stay here anymore."
Seeing Su Qing, she felt like pouring out all of her grievances.
Eventually, Su Qing took Feng Bai back to her home. Only then did she realize that Feng Bai was burning up. After getting home, Feng Bai couldn’t hold on any longer and fell asleep on the bed. After administering some medicine to Feng Bai, Su Qing stood by the bed and watched Feng Bai lying there quietly.
That she could actually find Feng Bai was something she found almost unbelievable herself, feeling as if someone had been calling her, she just followed the feeling. When she arrived near a bus stop, she saw a man harassing Feng Bai. Without thinking, she rushed forward, grabbed the man’s hand, and gave him a forceful kick, her anger spilling out in that moment. Why she was so angry, she didn’t even know. It was as if something of hers had been violated.
Feng Bai woke up several hours later. Su Qing had dozed off on the nearby sofa, but when she heard some noise, she woke up and looked in Feng Bai’s direction.
Feng Bai opened her eyes, alarmed by the unfamiliar setting. She started to get up from the bed, but when she saw Su Qing approaching, she burst into tears.
"Su Qing, Su Qing, Su Qing."
Su Qing walked up to Feng Bai and wiped away the tears at the corner of her eyes, softly saying, "Stop crying."
Seeing Feng Bai so distressed made Su Qing feel uncomfortable too.
Feng Bai cried for a while before she could stop the tears, and then she looked up at Su Qing painfully, "I’m hungry, so very hungry."
Temporarily forgetting her sorrow, Feng Bai held her stomach and spoke to Su Qing.
Su Qing smiled and walked out of the room. There were some leftovers in the refrigerator, made by the temp worker they had; she just needed to heat them up.
Feng Bai dressed and walked up to Su Qing, gazing at the food in front of her and quickly began to eat.
After half an hour, Feng Bai held her belly and looked at Su Qing, "I’m full."
Finally sated, the memory of her recent hunger made her feel upset again.
Su Qing looked at Feng Bai across her, "Don’t think too much."
Feng Bai lifted her head, tears swirling in her eyes again, "Li Jingmo is a big liar, he lied to me, he has always been lying to me."
Feng Bai depressedly lowered her head, crying with restrained sadness. She was afraid that crying loudly would make Su Qing unhappy.
Feng Bai lifted her head to look at Su Qing and said in a low voice, "Su Qing, do you have some medicine that can make me forget someone?"
Su Qing tensed up, her expression became serious as she looked at Feng Bai, "How do you know I have medicine?"
Feng Bai looked at Su Qing blankly. How did she know? It seemed like she just knew.
Feng Bai shook her head at Su Qing, "I don’t know how I know, but I just do. I also know that you have something that’s very familiar to me."
It was when she got close to Su Qing that she knew, an intense intuition told her that something Su Qing had was very familiar to her, but now she could not identify what that thing was.
Su Qing stepped forward and grabbed Feng Bai’s hand, she had also felt that Feng Bai had an aura very similar to her own. Could they know each other?
"You said you felt I was very familiar, very intimate, from the very first moment."
Feng Bai nodded, indeed she had that feeling.
Su Qing pursed her lips; she also had that feeling, which is why she hadn’t pushed Feng Bai away when Feng Bai wanted to get close to her for the first time.
