Inside the Rolls-Royce Phantom, Mo Yunchen had a gloomy, bloodthirsty look on his face as he held a cellphone, speaking with Mo Sheng in Jingdu City.
Mo Sheng in Jingdu City was secretly searching the entire city for Mo Yuchu and Mo Yuyan. They had retrieved surveillance footage and discovered that the young master and young miss were taken away by a group of people, and it appeared that a young girl was also abducted with them.
Fearing to startle the snake by hitting the grass, they could only secretly search for the young miss and young master.
Hanging up the phone, Mo Yunchen’s expression turned even more forbidding as he looked at Mo Tang, "Speed up."
Mo Tang nodded, and several cars sped down the highway. Shen City wasn’t far from Jingdu City, but driving would still take at least an hour at top speed.
Inside a van, Su Qing kept her eyes tightly shut. She was not actually drugged into unconsciousness. When that man covered her mouth with a handkerchief, she held her breath and pretended to pass out.
Listening to the kidnappers’ conversation, she learned that they had randomly sought out children and, upon seeing the twins alone, quickly took them away, planning to kidnap them and ask their parents for a ransom.
Twenty minutes later, she felt the ride getting bumpier—they must have driven into some deserted place. Indeed, not long afterward, the kidnappers got out of the vehicle, picked up the unconscious Mo Yuchu and Mo Yuyan, then helped Su Qing out of the van. Su Qing quietly opened her eyes; this was an abandoned vehicle factory with many cars parked around and reeds growing thickly. Not far off, there was a tin house. The kidnappers dumped the unconscious Su Qing and the twins on an old, rickety bed in a small room inside the tin house.
The four men grinned as they looked at the still unconscious trio.
"Third Bro, quickly bring that girl out to me," the second brother called out from outside.
Third Bro nodded, grabbed the unconscious Mo Yuchu, and walked out of the room, shutting the door tightly behind him.
After everyone had left, Su Qing opened her eyes with a grim look and watched the door close. The little girl taken away should be safe for the moment.
She looked at her bound hands and with a slight movement of her right hand, she snapped the not-so-sturdy rope.
Glancing at the unconscious Mo Yuyan beside her, Su Qing quickly held him in her arms. Seeing that he had only passed out, she breathed a sigh of relief, took a pill out from her space, and placed it in Mo Yuyan’s mouth, making him swallow it.
In less than a minute, Mo Yuyan woke up from his stupor and looked at Su Qing beside him. Startled and about to speak, Su Qing placed her finger to her lips, signaling for Mo Yuyan to stay silent.
Mo Yuyan looked around at the environment, then remembered that he had been captured by a group of bad people. He nodded smartly, indicating he understood.
Su Qing stroked Mo Yuyan’s little head with approval. Mo Yuyan shyly lowered his head, not stopping Su Qing’s gesture. For some reason, when Su Qing touched his hair, it felt very comfortable to him. If it were anyone else, he would have haughtily refused to let them touch him.
"How did you get caught and brought here?" Su Qing asked softly.
Mo Yuyan hung his head, "Chuer and Yanyan wanted to find our mother! Sister, how come you’re here?"
"Seeing you being taken away by the bad people, I was worried, so I followed. Don’t be scared; sister won’t let anything happen to you!"
Su Qing said gently. Mo Yuyan’s eyes locked on Su Qing, a trace of longing welling up in them, but Su Qing did not notice.
Mo Yuyan grabbed Su Qing’s hand, feeling the warmth of her hand, and the corners of his mouth lifted into a smile that was, unlike his usual demeanor, not devoid of warmth.
Su Qing let Mo Yuyan hold her hand, "Did you and Mom get separated?"
Mo Yuyan shook his head and looked up at Su Qing, "Mom disappeared, so Yanyan and Chuer are going to find her, so no one can call Yanyan and Chuer wild children."
After hearing Mo Yuyan’s words, Su Qing’s heart ached, and she drew Mo Yuyan into her arms. It turned out these two little ones didn’t have a mother; she had assumed... With that thought, a sudden, inexplicable sense of guilt surged in her heart.
"I’m sorry, sister didn’t know!"
As Su Qing held him, Mo Yuyan’s smile warmed and relaxed. It wasn’t the first time he had been embraced ; Aunt Mu, Aunt Gan, and Aunt Lu had all held him and Chuer before, but it was the first time he felt a mother’s warmth in his sister’s arms, a feeling he greatly cherished. How wonderful it would be if sister became Yanyan and Chuer’s mother.
"Don’t be afraid, sister will protect you and Chuer. I won’t let anything happen to you—I promise!"
She would not let anything happen to the two little ones, even if it meant putting herself in harm’s way.
