Mage Manual Chapter 496

Void Realm, Time Continent, Spider Tower area.

At this moment, it was not Spider Tower’s turn, and the entire area had fallen into the monochrome Static Domain. Apart from the Knowledge Creatures that were still proliferating, three castles surrounded by layers of defensive lines were operating around the clock. Knowledge Creatures with "professions" transformed into humans, sat at their workstations engrossed in writing, responding to inquiries from the real world. As each doubt was resolved, a multitude of Soul Power also converged at the heart of the castle: Spider Web.

Denzel had taken on a profession at the time, dressed in a small vest, short skirt, and high heels, she sat cross-legged on what used to be her throne, idly flipping through a book brimming with a variety of questions.

Commanders, of course, could accumulate Merit by working; after all, they had nothing better to do, and most Commanders would take on a ’profession’ during times in the Static Domain. The work at Spider Tower was also very straightforward. Answering questions did not require the staff to think – or rather, as soon as they finished reading a question, the answer would jump straight out of their minds, and all they had to do was write it down.

It did seem a bit superfluous, but it was necessary— even the greatest Wonders were just clumps of unchanging ’rules’, which must employ variable ’intelligence’ to deliver precise, person-specific feedback.

However, Commanders with a certain degree of emotion, like Denzel, would find this kind of work too boring. She walked over to the window, looked up at the Spider Web covering the entire grey sky.

To call it a Spider Web was somewhat a misnomer: it did not have any mesh. Or to be precise, the meshes were so minuscule they were nearly imperceptible, appearing from below like an all-encompassing white curtain.

But Denzel scrutinized carefully and could still see seven holes in the central area. When these seven holes were filled, the Battle of Six Nations would officially begin.

The last ten holes needed to be filled typically would break open by themselves. With good luck, only one would break, and Spider Tower could retain second place contention; with bad luck, seven or eight could break, and the Battle of Six Nations would end up in the last place.

Hopefully, they would be firmly repaired this time...

Just then, Denzel noticed the Spider Web tremble slightly, then countless threads wove together, gradually filling the seventh hole. She looked down at the book in her hands, flipping to the Deceit List page— Spider Tower’s Commanders could actually obtain real-world intelligence, but basically, no one was interested, even Denzel, who had regained her emotions, was no exception.

Compared to just a few decades in the real world, Denzel had waged wars on the Time Continent for several hundred years to retrieve her soul fragments. The latter’s length and thickness had completely diluted the former; she couldn’t possibly feel any nostalgia for the real world.

This was probably one of the reasons why the Six Nations’ wars and the Commanders’ legions were all occurring on the Time Continent: Two-winged Mages lived lives that were too short. Divine Lords didn’t need to pay special attention; the mere passage of time would integrate the Commanders with the Time Continent.

"The Deceit List..." Denzel became a bit interested, it was a title she liked, unlike the previous two holes, which she even deemed a waste of time to look at.

"The Deceit List, ranked 10th: Denzel’s Crown Descending Ritual"

"Synopsis: The ancestor of the Doran family, Denzel Doran, possessed the authority to gaze into the boundless future. In order to obtain this authority, on April 10, 1678, Hanna decided to launch the Crown Descending Ritual at the cost of countless gold and silver treasures."

"The puppeteer behind the scenes: Hanna Doran"

"...Hmm?" A trace of confusion crossed Denzel’s face:

"Do I have... descendants?"

Inside Belladett Manor, as soon as the Deceit List’s 10th ranking was announced, everyone turned their gaze to the Purple Moth, beaten and tattered by his mother, their eyes filled with various desires.

The Doran family... the authority to watch the boundless future... the Crown Descending Ritual!

But when Qinna clenched the handle of her gun, everyone chose to give Senheiser some face and continued to look at the list.

"Miss, this time we’ll really offend all the powers."

The image depicted Banjee as a gentle blue-haired young Housekeeper as before, while Hanna had matured a lot, dressed in an off-shoulder purple gown, becoming more dazzlingly eye-catching, and alluring with her charm. They seemed to be standing on the second floor of a banquet hall, looking down at the guests below.

"It’s fine, all the powers here will soon be reduced to two or three kittens; there’s no harm in offending them." Hanna shrugged her shoulders, "I’ve gone to great lengths to deceive them into coming here, now is not the time to back out."

"You might as well worry about whether the ritual given by Rusted Crow will succeed, Denzel is our best hope, only she can lead us to conquer the future!"

The audience held their breaths, almost afraid to blink their eyes—they may not have known who Denzel Doran was, but what did a ritual to summon ancestors signify?

Resurrection of the dead!

This was a grand domain only Divine Lords could delve into!

Anything related to resurrection was basically a ’Wonder’!

And if the impoverished Hanna could conduct such a ritual, how could these prestigious families not be able to?

Even knowing the details of this ’Crown Descending Ritual’ was a treasure not to be missed!

As if aware of everyone’s thoughts, the Gospel Book maliciously cut out this part of the plot, jumping straight to the end of the ritual!

"Hanna stood in the empty hall, all the guests lay on the floor, life and death uncertain. Banjee looked at his mistress and, inexplicably, took a step back."
