Mage Manual Chapter 770

Chapter 770: Chapter 600 Bloodshed_2

Not only the Fangyuan Cicada, but these time-based lifeforms also had certain peculiar characteristics in the Flowing Gold River, such as their wounds being able to heal quickly over a long time scale.

Ash slashed her wrist again, and after bleeding for over twenty seconds, the wound healed once more. When Ash put his sword to Weiser’s wrist for the third time, Weiser suddenly grasped the blade and pressed down hard!

The long sword nearly severed her wrist as she let her hand hang down, silver blood flowing continuously from her fingers into the Flowing Gold River. If the Flowing Gold River had previously been tinged with silver amidst the gold, now it seemed as if she had overturned a bucket of silver paint, the Galaxy of silver streaming into the mouth of the Fangyuan Cicada along with the current.

The Fangyuan Cicada paused slightly as if it noticed a change in the flavor of the water. But Weiser’s blood seemed palatable enough, or maybe it craved novelty; it didn’t mind and continued to gorge itself, as if feasting on yogurt.

“You make such a small cut, that by the time the Fangyuan Cicada gets in front of us, my blood might not even have dried,” Weiser mocked. “It’s not your blood flowing, so why be so stingy?”

Ash wanted to say something but held back, yet Weiser seemed to hear his unasked question, “Does it hurt? How could it not hurt? But… after all, you’re the one who inflicted the wound.”

So what if it’s a wound I caused?

Ash fell silent for a moment before saying, “Those dragged into your schemes, they feel pain too.”

“I don’t care,” Weiser said, staring at him. “Ash, if you think I would ‘repent’ and ‘amend my ways’ in the face of death, then you might as well just watch me bleed out. To me, you’re the ones in the wrong; I am the sole correct one.”

“Even if the whole world opposes me, it doesn’t matter. I can go against the current in the Flowing Gold River, and naturally, I won’t care about going against the grain in reality. Those who stand in my way, those who pass by, the innocent…” The voice beneath the fox mask grew even more grim, “I never care about their feelings.”

“Ash, I am neither a Spirit Mage nor a Necromancer,” she said. “I won’t change myself over someone or something.”

Ash: “Then what do you care about?”

“I used to only care about myself,” she said. “Now…”

The Silver Lamp suddenly collapsed, but fortunately, the Flowing Gold River’s current was not fast at the edges, and Ash immediately caught her, preventing her from being swept away by the river.

“I’m okay,” she said, standing up at once.

However, when Ash touched her hand, it was very cold, a symptom of acute blood loss. The silver dragon blood she had lost had reached the point where she could no longer maintain bodily functions.

This was different from the will-testing Flowing Gold River. With will, you could fake it, deceive yourself, but the body was the body. If you didn’t have enough blood, you’d suffer hypoxia, leading to fainting, or even a heart attack. They had no Miracle now; everything had to follow the regular rules of reality.

“Not enough, still not enough,” Weiser’s voice was urgent. “I’m fine.”

However, Weiser was leaning heavily on him, not from the rush of the Flowing Gold River but because she was beginning to feel utterly drained. At this rate, she would lose consciousness before the silver blood ran dry.

Ash watched the silver blood flowing from Weiser’s wrist and suddenly felt a throb within him. He looked down at his own hand, and though it was nearly imperceptible, specks of silver were floating from him to the Silver Lamp.

Because he was too close to the Silver Lamp, his Blood Seed increased its efforts, extracting life energy from him and delivering it inside Weiser—

Weiser turned to look at Ash, and he murmured, “I am the Blood Seed cursed by you.”

After he finished speaking, he reached out towards Weiser’s fox mask—

Weiser forcefully brushed his hand aside, pushing him away directly.

“You have to remove your mask to drink my blood,” Ash said.

“I’m not a Vampire,” Weiser lowered her eyelids, “I have no interest in your blood. And don’t touch my mask, I hate it most when others touch me.”

Where did that Silver Lamp go, the one who was even willing to strip off her clothes… Ash repressed the urge to retort and said, “I am your Blood Seed, drinking my blood will quickly replenish yours. If you faint now from excessive blood loss, then you’re completely forsaking the chance to control the Fangyuan Cicada!”

“You were willing to shed blood just to survive, and now you won’t even drink blood!?”

Without waiting for Silver Lamp’s answer, Ash drew his sword and sliced open his own wrist.

Bright red blood fell along his arm into the Flowing Gold River.

“If we don’t deal with the Fangyuan Cicada, I won’t be able to escape either.” He extended his hand, “Your turn.”

Weiser looked at him coldly and whispered, “You’re quite decisive now.”

Seemingly accepting the reality, Silver Lamp took Ash’s wrist, yet she still refused to remove her mask, insisting on turning her back to Ash. As a result, she leaned against Ash with her back, which meant that Ash couldn’t see what she was doing in front; but in this position, it was as if she were being held in Ash’s embrace.

He felt Silver Lamp’s tongue constantly licking the wound on his wrist, drawing the blood into her mouth. The strange sticky sensation, coupled with the pain in his wrist, mixed into a bizarre feeling.

A moment later, Weiser said, “You’re quite stingy with yourself, only cutting such a shallow wound.”

“Then I’ll cut deeper this time.” Ash tried to pull his hand back, but Silver Lamp held on tight.

“You just missed an opportunity to harm me, but I don’t wish to miss mine.” Weiser bit down on his finger, her voice filled with malevolent charm, “I’ve wanted to hurt you as much as I please for a long time!”

Pain in the fingers penetrates the heart, and Ash felt his fingertips being fiercely bitten through by Silver Lamp.

This was much more painful than the wrist, not to mention her teeth continually enlarging the wound. Although Ash was a battle-hardened Mage already numb to common pain, he couldn’t endure this kind of senseless malice—especially since he hadn’t intentionally hurt Silver Lamp just now!

Ash tried to withdraw his hand, but Silver Lamp still had strength left, her hands gripping his like a tiger’s vise. However, Silver Lamp still needed to shed blood, so he dared not harm Silver Lamp at will. With her back turned to him, she provided an excellent opportunity for unfettered attack—

Silver Lamp’s body shook, and then she became much more compliant, no longer using her teeth to deliberately cause pain. Just when Ash breathed a sigh of relief, he realized Silver Lamp wasn’t intending to stop right there.

Silver Lamp’s tongue, softly grazing over his fingers.

Fingers were far more sensitive than the wrist, and the tongue could more easily roll and knead them, plus the faint pain from the wound… In the slow blood loss, in the continuous ripping of the wound and the gentle soothing, an indescribable sensation lurked amidst the tingling and pain, violently and gently seeping into the sea of Ash’s heart.
