Magus Supremacy Chapter 378

Grey had now spent about two months in this new continent known as Vayun. Over the past month, after deciding he wanted to learn Ki, he had been training intensely every single day without fail.

Yami had explained that these physical trainings were meant to refine his body, conditioning it to hold and withstand the Ki that would eventually develop inside him.

And within this month, though the brutal training had nearly broken him several times, Grey had persevered through sheer will.

At first, everything had felt like torture. After about two weeks of repeating the same routines over and over again, something changed. The exhaustion, the fatigue, the weakness, and frustration he’d felt in the beginning began to fade. His body adapted.

Where once he could only run up and down the mountain twice before collapsing, he could now do it four times, pushing himself beyond his previous limits.

Push-ups, too, became slightly easier. Although he hadn’t yet doubled the number he could do, there was undeniable improvement.

Yami had even added a sit-up training regimen specifically designed to refine Grey’s abdomen and core. The burns he felt during these sessions had lessened, but they were still present—a reminder of progress.

But beyond endurance, visible changes had begun to appear on Grey’s body.

What had once been a lean, almost fragile frame now radiated power and precision. His muscles had become defined and tight, like coiled steel beneath sun-kissed skin.

His arms were thicker—biceps and forearms sculpted from the constant strain of push-ups.

Broad shoulders now tapered down to a firm, chiseled torso where each abdominal muscle stood out in stark, carved definition—a testament to every sit-up and punishing sprint up the mountain.

His legs were perhaps the most telling of all. Hardened from endless uphill climbs and squats, they now held a wiry strength, with calves that bulged like compact springs and thighs solid enough to crack stone.

His posture had shifted too—not merely that of a boy learning, but of a warrior forged through hardship. Even the way he walked had changed. Each step held weight, confidence radiating from every movement.

Tanned from the daily sun and streaked with faint scars and calluses, Grey no longer looked like someone still searching for his path. He looked like someone earning it—every single day, through sweat and determination.

And now, as expected, he was currently on the mountain top, doing seventy sit-ups under the crisp, cool morning air. Yami stood beside him, arms crossed, watching intently like a hawk.

Grey called out, his voice steady as he finished the final rep and sat up smoothly. He was barely out of breath. Without missing a beat, he quickly transitioned into a crouching position as if preparing for a new set, his hands placed behind his head.

"Time for fifty squats," he announced calmly, and like a machine, Grey began going up and down repeatedly, counting with discipline.

Yami watched silently, a small grin playing at the corner of his mouth.

’Over the past month, he has now become more disciplined in his training, and that’s a good thing. Sometimes he goes beyond his limits, trying to break whatever record he set for himself the day before.

This is the kind of dedication I seek—the willpower to break through whatever limitations life sets on you.’ Yami thought as he kept his arms crossed, observing quietly.

A few minutes passed as Grey wrapped up his squats, his movements sharp and controlled. Once done, he wiped the sweat off his face and, with a practiced motion, pulled out Yami’s infamous special mystery juice.

"And a little of mister Yami’s juice to wipe out any fatigue," Grey said to himself with a faint grin as he gulped half the bottle down before capping it.

By now, he had grown accustomed to the taste and smell. What used to make him gag now felt like a familiar, if slightly unpleasant, ritual.

"Yami sir, I’m done with today’s training. Can we go home now?" Grey asked, snapping Yami out of his thoughts as he stood with relaxed confidence, wiping the last of the sweat from his brow.

Yami tilted his head slightly, eyes thoughtful, weighing his response.

"Actually," Yami said as he walked over and sat down on the bare ground, signalling for Grey to do the same. Grey followed, lowering himself cross-legged in front of Yami.

"I was thinking," Yami began, his voice calm and steady. "Over the past month, visible changes can be seen on your body, showing how much time, dedication, and willpower you have put into refining yourself."

Grey looked at him earnestly, sweat still glistening on his brow. "Yeah, let me guess. It isn’t enough yet. I know. I also feel like something is missing," he added with a small scoff.

"Let me finish, you dumbass," Yami sighed as he facepalmed. "As I was saying, your dedication and training have paid off. Even standing far away from you, I can feel it—your body has been refined and is ready for the next step."

Grey’s eyes widened slightly, his attention sharpening.

"Usually, it takes a few months longer than a month to get a well-refined body. But with you, it feels like something wants you to learn this Ki thing faster. It’s almost as if fate itself is pushing you forward—hence your well-refined body after just a month of training."

"Wait, so you mean... I can finally learn the cultivation thingy next?" Grey asked, raising an eyebrow with a grin creeping onto his face.

"Yes. It’s time for you to learn how to cultivate your Dantian and finally begin using Ki," Yami announced, a small smile appearing as he saw Grey’s eager expression.

"So that’s what you were saying so slowly? Let’s get on with it as quickly as possible! I’ve been waiting for ages already," Grey yawned as he adjusted his sitting posture.

"Don’t rush it yet," Yami cautioned, his tone more serious. "It might take a few days to fully cultivate your Dantian. And honestly, you shouldn’t get your hopes up too high. Things ... if they don’t go as planned, it can hit harder than you expect."

"Yeah, yeah. Let’s get started already. Time’s running out," Grey waved his hand casually, brushing off the warning.

Yami raised an eyebrow. "Are you familiar with meditation?" he asked.

"Nope! Haven’t done it be—" Grey suddenly trailed off. A sharp wave of headache washed over him, unbidden and fierce, and his vision blurred.

Blurry images flashed through his mind—someone sitting cross-legged, surrounded by a serene aura. The vision kept repeating, like a fragmented memory fighting to surface.

The pain worsened. Grey’s head throbbed violently as he clenched his hands tightly in agony, teeth grinding against each other. His eyes watered from the sheer force of it.

Yami noticed immediately but didn’t move or say anything, observing quietly.

"If you’re not going to recall anything... don’t freaking show me any damn memories!" Grey screamed out suddenly, a tear slipping down his cheek as the headache finally receded.

The images vanished, leaving only silence and the echo of his own heavy breathing.

After a moment, Yami spoke gently. "Are you fine now?"

Grey took a deep breath, his body slowly calming as he wiped the tear from his face. "Yes. Shall we start?" he asked, voice steadier now.

Yami smiled faintly, nodding in response.
