Davis was speechless. She's blaming him now? How can she be angry with him that he hit him? Was she expecting him to pocket his hands and allow a man like himself to hit him?
Is that how much she loves him? There seems not to be a green light for him in her sight. He was just wasting his time.
"But Rita, he was the one who hit me first? How am I to be blamed if I retaliate?" David asked.
"You provoked him. You called him a hooker. If someone calls you that, would you be happy?
Or tell me, when did I discuss my ex-husband with you? Who told you he chases anything in skirts? Who fed you such horrible words about him?
Now listen to me, from henceforth, don't come looking for me. I don't want you anywhere around me and I already made it clear to you that we can only be friends.
But you have crossed the Rubicon when you insult and raise your hand against Julia. So I am not interested in being your friend anymore.." Rita declared and turned around.
Davis stood like someone watching a play and was completely overtaken by it. Rita was so angry with him that she said such words to him and doesn't want him anywhere around here?
He ran after her and said "ok I am sorry Rita. It's never going to happen again. I can make you forget him completely and love you better than he ever pretends to love you.." Davis apologized.
But he messed it up when he said he would love her more than Julia ever pretends to love her.
"Who said he pretended to love me? He still loves me ok. If I didn't know that before, today I realize that he still loves me as much as I still love him.
Forget about me Davis and find another girl to fall in love with. Love is reciprocal but I can't love you in this life.
Find someone who would appreciate your love and love you back in return. Sorry if I gave you false hope. Nothing is going to work between us" Rita concluded and walked out on him.
As she walks out on Davis, she knows one certain thing, she cannot love someone else. Julia is the only man she's capable of loving.
Davis shook his head. That mistake ruined his day. Who the hell is Julia to interfere and come in between himself and Rita.
If he loves her why did he divorce her, why did he treat her badly like his mother had told him. Now he wants to take her and showered her with love and then he suddenly appeared and ruined his chances.
Rita deserves to be happy and only he can give her such happiness. He turned back to his car and angrily drove off.
Rita went to her office and started sobbing. Julia still loves her, she saw it in his eyes and he wants to get reconciled with her.
But she had sent him away. Davis ruined everything when he hit him. She wasn't holding him for Davis to have the upper hand, but to calm him down.
He misunderstood her intention and thought it to be something else. He thought she was helping Davis.
But Davis must be a bad man to have still hit Julia when she held him. How can you attack someone who is not capable of defending himself at the time?
He didn't spare Davis a glance nor answer his silly question. How can he still provoke him?
Rita sobbed and ended up not taking lunch that day. She wouldn't have stepped out or agreed to go lunch with Davis if she had known something like this.
Julia was bitter. Rita has gotten herself a boyfriend and has moved on with her life while he was there languishing in regrets of letting her down.
She had said to his face that she had moved on with her life. He is the most stupid person to have remained where she left him.
At this point, he has sealed his heart. Nothing is going to work between them again. He would move on with his life as she advised him.
His chin hurts and he knows he has some internal injury in his mouth. He needed to get treatment and get himself attended to.
He went to take her for lunch but returned with a swollen chin and pains. He was paying for his sins and he thinks he had completed the payment.
He was heading to the hospital when Junxie Li and Theresa drove into Li's residence.
When they got in, Carol Li was very happy to see Theresa. She hugged her and brought her to sit on the sofa.
Junxie Li didn't see anyone hug him or invite him to sit, so he lent himself some senses. He was seated when his mother was almost caressing Theresa's hair.
The servants came and brought them drinks. They all helped themselves to it when Carol Li glanced at her son.
" Junxie dear, how have you been?" She asked, smiling at him when the latter raised his head and chuckled aloud.
" Mum, you remember I came too? I thought it's only Theresa you saw.." Junxie Li stated.
"Some people should be treated more special than others. I hope you understand that. Theresa is going to be my daughter-in-law and take the place of the daughter I never had.
She's going to make me happy by giving me a granddaughter that I have longed for all these years. Isn't it Theresa?" Carol Li asked, turning to glance at Theresa.
" Yes mother, I am going to give you a granddaughter soon," she said and held Carol Li's hand to her belly.
"She will feel the warmth of your hand.." Theresa said, smiling at her mother-in-law-to-be. Carol Li seemed to suspect that she's pregnant already.
" Are you pregnant with my granddaughter already!" Carol Li asked.
