The boys stared at the woman that came in. She looked nice and smiled sweetly at them but they did not want another woman, they wanted their mummy to read them the bedtime story.
"I want mummy," Lee declared, folding his little arms across his chest. He frowned. They have never spent a night away from their mother.
Now they miss her stories. Jun Xie Li sighed audibly and said their mummy is somewhere far away from them. But he promised to bring their mummy home with them the next day.
"I want my mummy too. I want to hear how the story of the fairy princess and the poor guard ended"Tim declared.
Jun Xie Li felt he was going to have a cerebral hemorrhage. Is this how difficult it is to deal with kids? What has he gotten himself into that night?
He should have just let them return to their mother and get them three over to his place the next day.
It was already dark and he wouldn't be able to take them out this late. He doesn't want to contact Julia Li as well. His brother was likely to be under the quilt with his woman at the time.
"Oh, stories about the fairy Princess and the poor guard are for little kids and girls. But I will tell you a story meant for men and big boys like you" Jun Xie Li announced forcing a smile on.
The two boys exchange glances with each other. Is that true? They are now big boys and should be categorized as men.
They nodded and Jun Xie Li took a deep breath. He looked at Ms. Diddy helplessly. He wished he could escape from this situation but he has nowhere to escape to.
"Once upon a time, the jungle had only one king.." Jun Xie Li paused. What was he going to say next about the jungle and its king?
He looked at Ms. Diddy and the latter shrugged. Even she doesn't know what happened in that jungle nor to its king.
"Yes, go on," Lee demanded, listening with rapt attention. Jun Xie Li smiled. Wasn't it supposed to be a bedtime story? Why are their eyes open and void of sleepiness?
He thought once he opened his mouth, they would start dozing off. But now, they want to hear about his fabricated story and Ms. Diddy is not willing to bail him out.
"..erm..yes, the king of the jungle was a lion, the biggest one in the world. So big with sharp claws capable of destroying any living animal or human being.
Whenever it's hungry it roared like this rah..hhh.." Jun Xie Li made the sound of the roar and Ms. Diddy was stunned.
What kind of a bedtime story was this? But before she could wink at Jun Xie Li, she heard "Ahh….hhhhhh!!!!" from the kids and closed their ears.
Jun Xie Li was surprised. He looked at the boys in astonishment. Should they be applauding him? But why the sudden scream and closing of their ears?
"Too scary daddy!! Tim declared and hid under the quilt. Lee followed suit. They covered themselves and didn't even let their head out.
Jun Xie Li stood up and went away. The story was indeed scary and that was all he could think of and quickly made up to tell them.
Aren't they the ones who wanted a bedtime story before they could sleep? He sat on the sofa in the sitting room. And less than twenty minutes later, Ms. Diddy walked out of the room.
"Are they asleep?" Jun Xie Li asked and Ms. Diddy nodded. "Since I don't know which fairy story their mother told them halfway, I sang them a poem and they drifted off to sleep.
But eldest master, that story you were telling them was indeed scary. How do you want kids like them to sleep without having a nightmare?" Ms. Diddy complained.
"I couldn't think of anything else, "Jun Xie Li answered and sank into the chair. He is addicted to Ms. Diddy. She knows him as much as his mother does.
If I am not trespassing, can I ask you a question eldest master? Ms. Diddy requested.
