Martial Arts Worlds Chapter 244

The lifted-up high cemetery started to crack. It was about to fall apart completely.

Kiernan moaned with great, painful effort. His arms were holding the weight of the entire cemetery, and the pressurewas becoming unbearable.

He was starting to lose the feeling in his arms.

"You must stop this!"

The young woman cried out.

"You'll anger the mist monsters even more!"

"Are you sure about that?"

Kiernan said with a painful grin on his face. His white teeth were stained red from the slight internal bleeding in his mouth.

"I believe that this demon queen of yours has zero interest in protecting anyone from Rotaker Island. I believe, if the mist monsters are angered, they'll target their anger towards somewhere entirely else."

Kiernan screamed, and then, with his muscles ballooning up, he stomped on the ground with great effort, and then, with whatever was left on his tank, he tossed the cemetery high into the air.

The cemetery cracked and shattered upon the throw, but those thousand-strong graves got hurled through the air, out of Rotaker Island, and straight towards the far-away mist.

The throw was insane, way beyond what ordinary humans could ever achieve.

The ghosts got hurled across the air, their eerie, haunting screams echoing in the wind as they disappeared into the mist.

It all turned silent suddenly.

Kiernan and the young woman turned their gazes to the mist. They shared a silent moment.

Then, through the mist, an eyeball the size of a mountain appeared, gazing towards Rotaker Island.

It was like they were looking straight into the eye of a cosmic monster.

'Why are these monsters stuck in that mist? Why are they blocking the path to Dead World? Unless they're there for a reason to stop anyone from going there…

'Maybe this demon queen doesn't want anyone to come to Dead World and needs the mist monsters to stop any intruders.'

The large eye then blinked and vanished beyond the mist. The mist swirled and thickened. The silhouettes of every mist monster vanished.

The young woman covered her mouth in shock, and then, her eyes widened in shock as she felt something deep inside her consciousness.

She cried out and begged.

"P-please don't. I did what you told me to do… don't, please!"

Kiernan asked with a frown.

"The demon queen is whispering to me. Now that I did her biddings, she is planning to kill me off! Please, stop her!"

She pleaded, hugged him tightly, and buried her face in his chest, tears streaming down her face.

Kiernan let out a deep sigh, powerlessness in his voice.

There was nothing he could do in this situation.

'No matter how this would've gone down, the demon queen would've still killed her. A sad fate.'

With the last cries from the young woman, her eyes suddenly turned lifeless, and she collapsed on his lap. The heart stopped beating.

He put one arm under her legs and the other around her shoulders, carrying her lifeless body out of the destroyed cemetery.

He didn't return to the convenience store and headed straight to Makariah's house, hoping that he happened to be awake.

After arriving at his house, he knocked on the door, and after a few heartbeats, the door opened, and Makariah stood there with a puzzled look on his face.

He saw the young woman in Kiernan's arms. It only took one good look to tell that she was dead.

Kiernan went to the living room and laid her lifeless body on the table. He then went to pour himself a glass of water, trying to process the whole situation.

"Who is this young lady, and what happened to her?"

"She is the kidnapper you guys were looking for."

Kiernan said with a bittersweet tone and drank the rest of the water.

Makariah looked shocked and turned to the young lady. He didn't expect someone who looked so innocent could do such a horrible thing, but looks could be misleading.

"Then, what about my grandson…?"

"Gone, I am sorry. Retrieval of the corpse was impossible as well."

Hearing that, Makariah collapsed on the couch; the heavy downpour of emotions crashed onto him like a tidal wave.

He and the rest of the family were expecting to hear exactly that, but still, it came as a total shock.

"Why did you bring her here?"

Makariah asked with a new hatred in his eyes as he looked at the young woman on the table.

"I need you to bury her, then do the teleportation ceremony so I can return where I came from."

"Bury her? Why… she killed my grandson."

Kiernan scratched the back of his head with frustration.

"She was mind-controlled in a way. Someone else made her do it, but she could have not done it too. However, if she hadn't, she would've died. So, I don't completely blame her, as I would've done exactly the same thing as she did."

Makariah frowned in confusion.

"Why would anyone want to mind control someone to kidnap my grandson?"

"It is a long story… Just bury her, then teleport me away from here. It has been a long day, and honestly, I don't really want to come back here."

Makariah recognized the heaviness in his tone. It was clear that it hadn't been easy the past few hours for him.

He then grabbed a shovel and went to dig a hole in the backyard. Then, after some time, he came to retrieve the young woman's corpse, wrapped her in a blanket, and descended her into the hole he had dug.

After covering the hole with the dirt, he sprinkled some grass seeds on top, then woke up Sabbath with a phone call and did the teleportation ceremony.

"Thanks for… finding out what happened to my grandson. I think I see why Sabbath chose you as his disciple."

Makariah said, shaking hands with the young man as he vanished into the bright light, leaving the Rotaker Island once more.
