Martial Arts Worlds Chapter 278

"I think Jonathan can't move anymore."

Kiernan said as he watched the match with his arms crossed.

With just one glance, he could tell the state of Jonathan's body wasn't good. It was clear that he was exhausted, and his knees were on the breaking point.

If he were made of glass, there would currently be cracks forming all around his body. Especially around his knees.

"Yeah, the match is pretty much over."

Julian stood up from the bench and laid his towel down. He then started warming up on the sideline, knowing that he would soon be called onto the ring.

Coach Jin frowned at the sight of the one-sided match.

He was mainly responsible for training Jonathan and helped him with his Sky Drop. It was his ultimate technique, but it also made him very reliant on it.

However, it was better than not having any technique at all.

'I taught Ryan, so I know the importance of 'Super Techniques' in battles, but it looks like Shri has seen a video of Jonathan's Sky Drop.

'I was hoping they hadn't, as people might underestimate Jonathan, but I've forgotten that Karuza High is now a winner contender, so there is no one that will underestimate us.'

Shri rained punches against Jonathan's block. He couldn't do anything except cower behind his arms in a desperate effort to protect himself.

'I must conserve my energy. This guy is the weakest. Karuza High has two monsters after him!'

Shri thought to himself.

Jonathan reached towards his collar. Shri stepped back, and Jonathan's hand grabbed at the empty air.

'I… just need to grab him once!'

Jonathan desperately tried to chase after him, but he suddenly grimaced, and his knees trembled as if they were about to give out.

Shri, with the weight of his entire body behind it, kicked him in the chest, pushing his head so far to the side that it almost dislocated his neck.

Jonathan coughed out blood, and his vision turned gray as if he were staring straight into a frost-covered mirror. He felt his consciousness slipping away.

With his knees buckling beneath him, Jonathan fell to the ground in a heap.

The countdown started.

Shri walked back to his corner, just right at the edge of the ring, and then turned around back to look at Jonathan.

While he was preparing to continue to fight, he doubted that Jonathan would be able to stand back up.

All his opponents who had been kicked from such close range, straight into the chin, had never been able to stand back up.

Julian warmed up his fists by rubbing them together.

He didn't think there was any chance in hell that Jonathan would stand back up. That kick even gave him some goosebumps.

That kick would definitely sting for months to come.

The referee grabbed his whistle to call off the fight, and everyone watching the fight was one hundred percent sure that the fight was over.

However, then, out of absolute nowhere, Jonathan suddenly leaped off of the ground and lunged towards Shri like a hungry tiger.

Shri's eyes widened in shock.

Jonathan suddenly grabbed him by the face, lifted him up off the ground, and screamed so loud that Shri's eardrums shook.

Headfirst, Shri smashed into the concrete ground like a rag doll. The back of his head made a sickening crack as it hit the ground.

A silence fell over the two benches.

Jonathan's tongue rolled out of his mouth, his eyes rolled back to his skull, and he turned limp like a mochi cake.

Shri lifted his head, the back of his head, and the hair was covered in blood. His arms were tightly wrapped around Jonathan's neck, so hard that he turned purple, and his body went slack.

When Sky Drop landed, she jumped to her with excitement, but after seeing the conclusion of the battle, her heart dropped to the bottom of her stomach.

Coach Jin loosened his clenched fists.

'Sky Drop's greatest weakness. It doesn't actually stop his opponent from doing anything. The arms and legs are free to move and strike back.

'If the Sky Drop had smashed Shri into the ground with greater strength and knocked him unconscious, the victory would've been his, but he didn't have enough strength to do that.'

Kiernan thought inside his mind.

It did surprise him how much Shri had actually studied Jonathan's martial arts, but he thought it was because Shri had studied every first fighter of the top teams.

Shri moved Jonathan's unconscious body off from on top of him, stood up, and heard the referee's whistle signaling the end of the match.

"The winner is Shri Jagadeesh Ahad!"

The doctor came and took Jonathan away on a stretcher.

Julian didn't wait for the referee's words and just made his way up the ring with a cold look on his face.

Shri's gaze narrowed as he looked at Julian.

He felt like he was standing in front of a man-eating bear.

'It's crazy. When you fight against other teams, the members of the team are close to each other's strength, but not against Karuza High.

'The jump in strength is crazy. Jonathan, compared to him, is like a baby kitten compared to a ferocious lion.'

Shri moved his right hand behind his back, and then loosened the white tape to make it dangle down his hand.

"I am ready. Let's get this shit starting!"

Julian said and moved into his stance.

The referee looked at Shri.

"Not quite yet. My tape is off."

Shri showed his right hand, the white tape hanging off, which would greatly hinder his fighting capabilities.

"Fix that quickly! You have one minute!"

'I have one minute. I must try to catch my breath as much as possible.'

Shri touched the back of his head, and it stinged. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to escape without any injuries.

He wasn't sure of the extent of the damage he received, but the back of his head kept bleeding, sticking his blood drenched hair against his scalp.

'It hurt me more than expected.'

Shri rubbed his eyes, trying to shake off the graying vision that was beginning to cloud his sight.
