An Extremis Virus soldier was running ahead while Deadpool chased him from behind...
This Extremis Virus soldier wasn't dumb enough to face Deadpool head-on.
While fleeing, they relayed information through a communicator:
"Intruder detected! A man in a maid outfit, wielding dual katanas. His blades can neutralize the powers of the Extremis Virus!"
This military airport was the site where Killian planned his "Final Action Plan."
It was his carefully chosen "stage" for his evil ambitions, heavily guarded and allowing no room for mistakes.
As the fleeing Extremis soldier transmitted Deadpool's information, reinforcements quickly arrived.
Sure enough, after turning a few corners, Deadpool stopped in his tracks with a blank expression.
"Oh, sh*t! Did I just poke a hornet's nest? Do you guys really need to be this hospitable? I'm just a harmless maid, okay?"
Striking a flamboyant pose, Deadpool's antics made the approaching Extremis soldiers twitch in annoyance. "Uh... did I just max out my aggro again?"
Facing Deadpool were five or six heavily armed soldiers, all enhanced with the Extremis Virus and part of Killian's private army.
"I... surrender!"
After a moment of deep thought, Deadpool raised his hands. "I surrender, I surrender!"
Before the soldiers could process the absurdity, Deadpool took advantage of the brief confusion and bolted. "Holy chicken nuggets! Don't chase me! I didn't kill that guy earlier!"
And so, the chase reversed, with Deadpool now fleeing while the Extremis soldiers pursued him.
Despite the dire situation, he already had a plan in mind. After all, he was immortal.
He'd take down as many as he could before getting "killed." Then, he'd simply wait for his healing factor to revive him and sneak-attack the enemy when they let their guard down.
Perfect strategy, right?
'Bzzzz—!'
Just as Deadpool was preparing to "sacrifice" himself, a swarm of sparrow-sized drones emerged from the ventilation ducts, zooming past him toward the Extremis Virus soldiers.
"Whoa, what's this?"
"That's 'Skylark,' part of the 'Dragoon' combat module's hive drone system."
Kagura Hitomi's voice came through Deadpool's comms. "Having fun, Wade? How many times have you died so far?"
"I'm super strong, okay?" Deadpool puffed out his chest. "Listen, Kagura, I've only died o—"
'Bam-bam-bam-bam!'
Before he could finish, the Extremis soldiers opened fire, turning Deadpool into a bullet-ridden mess.
"Oops, make that two now," Kagura teased. "But hey, you're used to dying by now, right?"
As they spoke, the Skylark drones launched their attack.
Kagura had meticulously prepared for this mission.
Any misstep would mean the World Security Council could be wiped out. Though Kagura had little sympathy for those high-ranking officials, their survival ensured the Avengers' legal status.
If the World Security Council fell, the Avengers would face countless political obstacles.
Not to mention, Griffin and Rhodes Island Industries could get dragged into the chaos.
And of course, Kagura had her own personal grudge against Killian, the scumbag who tried to blow her up and destroy Tony Stark's home.
No way was she letting him off the hook.
The swarm of drones danced through the air like nimble sparrows, effortlessly dodging the Extremis soldiers' gunfire.
'Zzzzt—!'
Following Kagura's remote command, the drones switched to attack mode.
Unlike Rhodes Island's advanced drones powered by arc reactors, the Skylark drones operated on micro-capacitors. Lacking energy for traditional firearms, they relied on kinetic strikes.
In attack mode, the drones turned into flying daggers, slashing at the enemy from all directions.
But Kagura had upgraded them specifically to combat the Extremis Virus.
Each blade was coated with the same high-performance coolant as Deadpool's katanas, preventing the Extremis soldiers from regenerating their wounds.
The swarm of Skylark drones became a deadly "meat grinder," relentlessly cutting down the Extremis soldiers.
The once-invincible Extremis Virus soldiers lost all their advantages.
Super regeneration? Neutralized by the coolant-coated blades.
Unmatched strength and heat resistance? Rendered useless against the agile drone swarm guided by AI and Cortana's computational power.
One by one, the soldiers fell, unable to put up a fight. Finally, one Extremis soldier realized the dire situation and overloaded his virus, turning himself into a thermal bomb.
"All hail the Mandarin!"
'BOOM—!'
The self-detonation incinerated everything nearby, including the drones and a half-regenerated Deadpool.
"Oh come on! I just finished regenerating!" Deadpool cursed as he was blasted away.
"Well... self-destruction is indeed an effective solution," Kagura sighed, deactivating the remote control system of the Dragoon module. "But hey, the airport's basically cleared out now. Time for the grand finale."
Perched on the rooftop, the silver-haired girl gazed into the distance.
On the runway sat a modified Boeing 777, painted blue. It was the private jet for the World Security Council and military leaders.
Nearby, the honor guard stood at attention while security personnel surrounded the area. The council members had already begun boarding.
With the interior of the airport cleared by Deadpool and Kagura's drones, any remaining enemies would be hunted down once Deadpool revived.
The only threats left were the Extremis soldiers lurking near the plane... and Aldrich Killian himself.
Kagura frowned slightly. "Sigh, I really prefer 'Annihilation Mission' over 'Hostage Rescue Mission'..."
