Marvel : I'm in Westview Town Chapter 198

"Choose yourselves!"

As soon as these words left his mouth, the previously noisy hall fell into an eerie silence.

Many demons exchanged glances, none of them speaking.

Though they loathed that human, yearning to tear him limb from limb, the truth was inescapable—he was far too dangerous.

Confronting him recklessly could result in devastating losses.

In their eyes, that human was no longer just a threat—he was a living taboo. A being that defied reason.

And under such circumstances, who among them would dare provoke such a terrifying existence?

For a long moment, the hall was frozen in strange, breathless silence.

"Tch."

Just then, an ugly, twisted demon stepped forward with a sneer. "You cowards. Pathetic."

"Have you all forgotten? Ever since that human set foot in our realm, he's clearly been after our King."

"In that case, why not seize this opportunity and eliminate him while we can?"

At those words, the eyes of the other demons began to brighten.

That's right!

If he came for the Demon King, why should they cower?

"Either way, that human is a menace. I support your proposal. We should take him out as soon as possible!"

"Yes! I agree! That human's death is inevitable anyway, so why not strike first?"

"Let's follow through. Dispatch the top-ranking demons immediately. We'll kill that human together. His threat is too great to ignore!"

As the chamber filled with rising voices of agreement, a faint smile curled the Demon King's lips.

Though he had no real fear of the human, he understood that if the man rose any further, it could spell disaster for the demon faction.

He turned to his generals, speaking calmly: "Then lead the elite demons. Begin preparations immediately."

"At once!" several demons chorused, bowing deeply before rushing out of the palace.

The remaining demons watched them go, excitement beginning to simmer in their expressions.

Clearly, they were eager for the hunt.

"I wonder if they'll succeed," Mephisto murmured, eyes dim with unease.

He shook his head and turned to leave the hall, the weight of uncertainty heavy on his shoulders.

Unlike the others, Mephisto had firsthand knowledge of the human's capabilities. He had engaged the man himself. After that encounter, he understood the true terror the human represented.

Only the Demon King and a few other Mephistos remained in the grand throne chamber.

"My King, are you truly at ease with this?" one of them asked hesitantly. "What if they fail?"

"Fail?" The Demon King narrowed his eyes, sneering. "Then it only means they were too weak."

"..."

"We cannot ignore that human," the Demon King continued, his voice deep and gravelly. "If one man can injure multiple Mephistos alone, then he is no ordinary adversary. The danger he brings is real."

The demons around him nodded in agreement.

Despite their confidence in their warriors, caution remained necessary when dealing with a human capable of such devastation.

"Enough. Let us not dwell on the human. We must discuss the Angels."

The Demon King waved his hand dismissively and shifted the subject. "Our scouts have observed new movements from their side."

"Oh?" several demons raised their heads, curious.

"Our Shadow Guard reported that the Angel Faction has been making frequent contact with human forces lately."

The Demon King rubbed his chin, speaking slowly: "From what I can infer, they're preparing to launch a strike against us."

"What?!"

Gasps echoed throughout the room.

If true, this posed a grave threat.

If the Angels shifted from passive to active engagement, then war would erupt at any moment, swift and merciless.

"Why the panic?"

When chaos began to stir among his ranks, the Demon King cut through it with a chilling tone. "If they dare come to us so openly, then we can finally enact our countermeasures. Perhaps this is our chance to crush them once and for all."

A cold smile curved across his face.

After all, in both numbers and strength, the demon faction vastly outclassed their rivals. Unless that human intervened and aligned with the Angels, the opposition had little hope. They would be helpless lambs awaiting slaughter.

At those words, the demons surrounding the king exhaled in relief.

So long as they did not remain passive, there was little to fear.

And if they could destroy that human along the way, the king might even reward them.

That thought alone was enough to ignite fervor among them.

With a new resolve, the demons set about their preparations to annihilate their enemies in one decisive strike.

Night fell, and the world trembled under a stormy sky.

Over a dark and battered coastline, Finn and his team flew low over the churning waters.

Each of them, whether god or magician, found flight as easy as breath. The wind and cold meant nothing to them.

"How long until we reach their territory?" Stephen asked, his expression hard with grim awareness.

He knew the dangers ahead. Their mission was more than difficult—it bordered on suicidal. Without the right intelligence and awareness, infiltrating the demon faction was all but impossible.

His heart was heavy with unease.

"Don't worry," Brice responded firmly, his voice low and steady. "Our early recon confirms the demon faction is situated directly across this coastline. Below us, the river and sea floor are riddled with corpses, their decay saturating the water with corrosive magical residue."

He continued, tone sharp with caution: "Because of this, demons crossing this terrain must fly low. Flying too high means inhaling the corrupted gases, which severely disrupt their internal energies."

Stephen nodded, frowning. The implications were clear.

"I get it," Finn added, his voice equally serious. "But the demons must have their own protective shields, right? Even the Angels have their defensive barriers. There's no way the demons don't."

"You're absolutely right," Brice acknowledged. "Which is why we must descend before reaching their sensor range. High altitude flight could expose us to detection, even with our cloaking wards."

He spoke with the quiet urgency of someone who had calculated every risk.

"Once we're close enough, we go in low and slow," he instructed. "Stay off their radar. No sudden moves."

The others nodded.

Even with all their power, stealth was crucial.

Because the enemy was not only dangerous, but prepared.

This wasn't just a battle of strength.

It was a game of shadows—and survival.

Back in the depths of the demon realm, the storm began to howl louder, as if responding to the impending clash.

The Demon King stood before a massive obsidian window, staring into the heart of the storm.

He could feel it—the pieces were falling into place. The Angels were on the move. That accursed human was drawing closer.

But he was ready.

And this time, no one would be spared.
