Marvel: Infinite Personalities Chapter 3

Through the "Beginner's Guide," Raymond was able to get a basic understanding of the Infinite Personality System;

First, this system wasn't some super-intelligent AI, nor would it assign him any tasks. It would only appear in certain situations to reward him.

For example, meeting David, a "story character," automatically gave him 100 exploration points.

The guide didn't go into detail about what other specific situations would earn rewards besides meeting story characters. It seemed like something he had to figure out on his own.

Second, the main feature mentioned in the guide was the use of universal points to exchange for character cards. These cards would randomly give him an alternate personality based on characters from different worlds.

In theory, these alternate personalities could replicate the abilities of their original characters, but there were probably some limitations, though Raymond wasn't sure what they were yet.

In addition, the higher the level of the card, the stronger the alternate personality would be.

However, this wasn't absolute. Sometimes a lower level card could produce a personality just as strong as a higher level one, though the chances were much lower.

At present, Raymond could see three levels of character cards:

Bronze Character Card – 100 universal points

Silver Character Card – 1,000 universal points

Gold Character Card – 5,000 universal points

The guide also mentioned a few scattered minor functions, but their names seemed a bit vague. Since Raymond didn't have time to explore them yet, he decided to set them aside for later.

"I have 100 exploration points, which I can convert into 100 universal points… That means I can only afford a Bronze Character Card?" Raymond frowned.

After reading the guide, he realized that he didn't have many options.

Stuck in this mental hospital, he had no way to explore other ways to earn rewards, and meeting more story characters seemed unlikely.

In this situation, getting more universal points would be quite difficult.

According to his analysis, since meeting a story character gave him a reward, interacting more with them—perhaps even defeating or killing them—might also provide rewards.

Logically, this seemed possible.

But, of course, he wasn't in a position to test this theory.

For one thing, he wasn't a psychopath who could just kill someone for the sake of an experiment. And secondly, the only character he could interact with at the moment was David.

Was he crazy enough to do an experiment on David?

David was already an unstable ticking time bomb. Even without provocation, he could explode at any moment. If Raymond pushed him on purpose, there was no telling what might happen.

"Forget it, let's just exchange one and see!"

Realizing he had no better option, Raymond converted his 100 exploration points into universal points and exchanged them for a Bronze Character Card.

After completing the exchange, a game-like inventory screen appeared in his mind.

In the first slot, he saw an ancient-looking bronze card. He knew right away—this was the Bronze Character Card he had just obtained.

As he focused on the card, a system prompt appeared:

[Would you like to activate the Bronze Character Card now?]

Without any hesitation, Raymond chose to activate it.

[Bronze Character Card] Activation in Progress…

Bronze Persona 'Kuro of a Hundred Plans' Activated Successfully!

Original Background: 'Kuro of a Hundred Plans', from the world of One Piece, former captain of the Black Cat Pirates. Known for his intelligence and cunning, yet also possesses decent combat skills. Bounty: 16 million Berries!

"This guy?" Raymond was stunned for a moment.

But soon, a smile appeared on his face—he was quite satisfied with this result.

The reason was simple. Although he still wasn't sure about the exact power difference between Bronze, Silver, and Gold personas, the Beginner's Guide made it clear that the classification was based on the original character's strength.

In other words, Kuro's combat ability was categorized as Bronze-level.

However, his intelligence clearly wasn't taken into account.

If Raymond remembered correctly, the former captain of the Black Cat Pirates was a master strategist, one of the most cunning minds in One Piece.

If his combat strength had been a little higher, allowing him to enter the Grand Line instead of being stuck in the so-called "Weakest Sea," he might have made a name for himself all over the world.

So, Raymond's first character activation was undoubtedly a success.

Even though he wasn't lucky enough to get a Silver or even Gold persona from a Bronze card, unlocking someone with intelligence far beyond their combat level was already a great outcome.

"All right, let's see how this works..."

Now that he understood the nature of his first persona, Raymond followed the guide's instructions and switched to the Kuro persona with a single thought.

The moment he did—his eyes changed!

Previously, Raymond had a calm and sharp demeanor. But now, there was a lazy yet unsettling madness in his gaze—an entirely different aura!

"A new world, huh? I wonder if it's more interesting than the East Blue…" 'Raymond' murmured, instinctively pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.

Only to realize—he wasn't wearing glasses.

He paused, then chuckled and shook his head, not dwelling on it.

After casually surveying the room, he muttered to himself, "What a suffocating place. Stay here too long, and even a sane person would go insane."

"Should I kill my way out? Doesn't seem too difficult…"

"Alright, alright, I get it. I won't actually do it. Just a thought, no need to take it so seriously."

"What? I have to switch back already?"

"Can't I enjoy some fresh air a little longer? How cruel..."

In the midst of his grumbling, Raymond's eyes gradually returned to their calm and focused state.
