On New York Avenue, several black SUVs tore down the road, weaving between traffic with sirens blazing. Inside were fully armed S.H.I.E.L.D. tactical teams. Leading the charge was Natasha Romanoff, clad in a sleek black ops suit, expression sharp and focused.
Beside her sat a bald man with a single eye—Nick Fury, Director of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division.
Originally, Fury had left this operation to Natasha. But just as they were about to deploy, a last-minute "routine inspection" was dropped on them by upper-level oversight. The delay was suspicious—and deliberate.
By the time the red tape was cleared, Fury had changed his mind and joined the op himself.
"Natasha, I've got a bad feeling about this. We need to move—now," Fury muttered, jaw tight. Every instinct screamed that something was wrong. Delays like this weren't accidental.
Just then, an agent handed him a tablet.
"Sir. Intel just came in—an armed unit's attacked the orphanage. They're already inside."
Bang!
Fury's fist slammed into the window beside him, cracking the reinforced glass.
"Goddammit. I knew it. Full speed—get us there now!" he barked.
Natasha narrowed her eyes, expression unreadable.
"Looks like some people upstairs aren't as clean as they pretend to be."
She was angry—more than that, she was frustrated. She'd wanted to see the truth for herself. She still didn't believe the two-toned-eyed boy was the true threat… but it was time to find out.
"After this is over," Fury muttered, "I'm coming for the ones who stalled us. I know damn well which Hydra agents are buried in the chain of command."
"Push it! Now!" Fury snapped at the driver.
The S.H.I.E.L.D. convoy accelerated, tires screeching as they roared toward the orphanage.

Meanwhile, back at the orphanage, the situation had become grim.
Gunfire rang out non-stop, echoing between the walls. Screams mixed with rapid bursts of automatic weapons. One by one, Hydra soldiers fell—some controlled, others still fighting—but all caught in the slaughter.
As the battle wore on, fewer and fewer remained standing.
Eventually, the firefight moved fully inside the orphanage building. The courtyard fell eerily silent, littered with corpses and slick with blood—Hydra blood.
Officer Solomon Briggs, the Hydra commander, stood just outside the building, jaw clenched. His eyes scanned the front entrance, but he couldn't see what was happening inside. He could only hear the intermittent gunfire... then, suddenly, nothing.
Complete silence.
No more gunshots. No more screams.
Only stillness.
Then, two soldiers emerged from the building, uniforms stained with blood. They approached Solomon, breathing hard but smiling grimly.
"Sir, all hostile personnel are neutralized. We've captured the target. He's waiting in the hall."
Solomon's eyes lit up.
"Excellent. Take me to him."
His curiosity had grown stronger by the second. Who was this boy that had caused such an uproar? What kind of threat could he possibly be?
"Yes, sir!"
The two soldiers turned and led the way inside.
But Solomon didn't notice the faint red glow flickering in their eyes.

Moments later, they entered the orphanage's main hall.
And what Solomon saw made his blood run cold.
Lined up in perfect rows were all the soldiers who had entered the building—every one of them standing in rigid military formation. At the end of the hall sat a worn couch, and upon it lounged a teenage boy with heterochromatic eyes—one gold, one violet—glowing faintly under the dim light.
"Officer Solomon," the boy said calmly. "I've been expecting you."
Solomon froze.
Mirrors covered the walls. Every corner reflected some angle of the boy's gaze. Kurogai's trap was complete.
This was his battlefield now.
"It's a setup—!" Solomon stepped back, hand reaching for his weapon.
But it was too late.
Kurogai's eyes flashed crimson. The inverted V of the Geass symbol bloomed with fierce light—reflected across the room from mirror to mirror, bouncing straight into Solomon's eyes.
He froze in place.
His weapon slipped from his hand.
Kurogai rose slowly from the couch, walking toward him.
"Relax. We've got time to talk."
He stopped a few steps away.
"Answer my questions. Then kill the one who sent you." His voice dropped an octave.
"Until death."
The Geass glowed again. A red ring shimmered in Solomon's pupils.
Geass Ability: Absolute Command — Activated.
