Luo Bai had to stop absorbing the energy and focus on adapting to this overwhelming influx. To be honest, he was a bit confused.
It was his first time learning from the Book of Darkness, and he had only just grasped the technique to absorb dark power. Yet, the moment he succeeded, it felt as though he had triggered an unknown switch.
Suddenly, he was drawing in dark energy from multiple directions and dimensions, an enormous amount that was beyond his control.
As the power continued to flow, Luo Bai wondered whether his body could even contain such vast energy. But he understood—dark power has always been difficult to master, and absorbing so much from various dimensions in a short time would naturally cause some discomfort.
Fortunately, after some adjustments, Luo Bai managed to integrate the power into his body. Feeling more stable, he cautiously resumed absorbing dark energy, taking care not to be as reckless as before.

At the same time, in the Dark Dimension, Dormammu, the ruler of that realm, sensed that his dark energy was being drawn away.

Dormammu was growing frustrated.
It was happening again—someone was tapping into his Dark Dimension, siphoning off his energy! Did they think his domain was a buffet, where anyone could come and take what they wanted?
"Again! This is so annoying!" Dormammu cursed.
In truth, Dormammu didn't mind sharing his power with others. After all, when he granted someone his dark energy, it came with the ability to control their soul—exactly what Dormammu desired.
But this situation was different.
His dark power wasn't being offered. Someone was actively absorbing it, and the source was coming from Earth.
The fact that someone on Earth had mastered the method of absorbing dark energy across dimensions was shocking. This shouldn't be happening. The Ancient One was dead, and the remaining Earth mages were nowhere near skilled enough to pull this off!
Still, Dormammu didn't panic. After all, did they really think the dark energy from his dimension was so easily absorbed?
"Since you've taken my power, hand over your soul!" Dormammu bellowed.
He began to manipulate the dark energy in his realm, attempting to connect to the mage on Earth who had absorbed his power. His plan was to control the mage's soul and turn him into his servant.
But before Dormammu could fully trace the source, he felt another dark force interfering with his efforts. This energy felt familiar, like it was coming from... hell?
Mephisto, the Lord of Hell!
Dormammu was confused. What was Mephisto doing here? Was he also after this Earth mage's soul?
...
Mephisto, the Hell Lord, was equally furious when he realized that someone was absorbing the dark energy from his hellish dimension. Who dared to take his power without his permission?
Mephisto intended to claim the person's soul as payment, turning them into his disciple. As he tried to seize control over the person's consciousness through the dark energy connection, he too felt resistance.
It didn't take long for Mephisto to realize that Dormammu was attempting the same thing.
"Dormammu?" Mephisto muttered. "Has he also set his sights on this soul?"
Mephisto knew all too well that in the multiverse, the strong devour the weak. In a contest with Dormammu, he stood little chance of victory. So, rather than risk a confrontation, Mephisto retreated, giving up his claim to the mage's soul—at least for now.
Dormammu, sensing Mephisto's withdrawal, was quite satisfied.
"A mere Hell Lord dares to compete with me for followers?" Dormammu sneered, ready to resume his invasion of the Earth mage's consciousness.
But then, he felt another disturbance.
Dormammu: "..."
Wait, how much dark energy has this guy absorbed?! Are all these dark forces competing for his soul now?
Dormammu couldn't believe it. He wanted to know who was interfering this time.
Just as he prepared to investigate, a familiar presence washed over him.
Sithorn...?!?
