Two beautiful girls—one older, one younger. It was a stunning sight, one of Lorien’s absolute favorites.
But the problem was... "Wanda’s Ferris Wheel" or "Gwen’s Band Performance." Which should he choose?
If he went by who came first, that would be Gwen. But then... what about Wanda? That wouldn’t do. If he went with Wanda to the Ferris wheel, then Gwen’s band performance would be left out. That definitely wouldn’t do either.
Lorien’s Universal–level mind spun at high speed and reached a conclusion in just 0.01 seconds.
First—Wanda’s Ferris wheel was at night. Gwen’s band performance was in the afternoon. So... he could do both!
Only children make choices. Adults take everything.
The only question was—how? That would require the charm of words.
Once he realized Wanda was here to ask him to go on the Ferris wheel, Lorien seized the moment, gesturing to Gwen beside him.
"Wanda, this is a high school student I met at a medical exchange meeting. Not only is she interning at Osborn Industries, she’s also the drummer of a band. She came to invite me to watch their performance. Do you want to come along?
After the afternoon performance, we can head to the Ferris wheel and enjoy the New York night view."
The two beauties locked eyes. After sizing each other up, they finally exchanged introductions.
When it came to Lorien’s question, Gwen had no problem with it. She might sense a little threat from Wanda, but the more people watching the performance, the better.
Wanda thought it over. If she refused, her plans for today would fall apart—and she had spent ages picking her outfit. Besides, there was no reason to say no.
So she nodded, agreeing to Lorien’s plan.
"No problem. Let’s watch the band first!"
Perfect. The schedule was set.
Lorien glanced at their lineup—one tall beauty, one young beauty, and himself. Three people... but his Ferrari was only a two-seater. Supercars didn’t come with four seats. What now? Call another car?
"Gwen, is the performance far from here?"
Gwen shook her head. "Not far. It’s by Riverside Park, just across from Central Park. We can walk there in a bit."
Good. If it was that close, there was no need to drive or take a taxi, especially with the traffic.
Lorien turned to Wanda.
"I’m fine." Wanda met his gaze, smiling as she shook her head. "After what happened yesterday, and a night’s rest, I don’t care about other people’s stares anymore."
Fair enough. If she still cared, she wouldn’t be dressed today.
"Then what are we waiting for?"
Lorien waved his hand, leading the way with the tall beauty on his left and the young beauty on his right.
They strolled through the streets of Manhattan, passing luxury stores, electronics shops, souvenir stalls, cafés, and more. Lorien had just picked up three bottles of milk tea, so now they walked and sipped as they went.
In the crowded streets of New York, it didn’t take long for Wanda to be recognized.
"Scarlet Witch! It’s the Scarlet Witch!"
"Goddess! My goddess!"
"Where? Where is she? I can’t see her! Tell me!"
"She’s right next to a man! They’re drinking the same thing!"
It wasn’t clear who shouted first, but soon the people who hadn’t noticed now did, and they all began looking around for her.
Lorien sighed. Feeling Wanda’s slight nervousness, he tucked away his milk tea, grabbed both beauties by the hand, and quickened his pace.
They couldn’t afford to be surrounded here. Even if people didn’t know why a crowd had formed, they would join in anyway, and the circle would only grow bigger.
So he hurried them along until they reached the performance venue, finally letting out a breath.
"Wanda, you might still get headaches from being recognized in the future. The only difference is that before, it wasn’t a good thing. Now it’s a good thing—but still a hassle."
Having experienced similar situations before, Wanda could only ask, "Then what should I do?"
"You’ve got two options—or really, just one." Lorien raised a finger. "Your magic can probably teleport you, so use that for travel.
