When Shen Yuan heard the rumbling, his face was instantly cloaked with dark clouds. The sound was as loud as an angry thunder, but the sky was too clear even to expect a sudden rainshower to happen. Shen Yuan had never experienced death in a snowfield like this, but he read countless eyewitness accounts of what it’s like to hear an avalanche, and most of them described it as a distant thunder— just like what he’s listening to now.
"You son of a bitch," Shen Yuan said with passionate hate.
"That... Sorry to break this to you, but my mother has a much more respectable career than you, a model who seduces alphas for a living," The cloaked archbishop clapped back to Shen Yuan. A certain part of his head was drenched with red, but he stood without any problem and made a loud smirk to rile up Shen Yuan.
But to his dismay, he only got a blank and cold look from the omega.
"Hu Feng, take the injured one out of the dungeon. Li An and Wen Huian, I order you to issue a forced evacuation to all hunters inside on my behalf. Things will get tough for normal hunters from this point. I cannot guarantee their safety, so if you must, you can drag them the hell out of here. Qin Mian, you stay here with me. You’re safer with me here," Shen Yuan issued his orders without looking at his subordinates.
"But Leader Shen..." Li An voiced out his disagreement. If they leave, then that means their leader will handle the enemies on his own! He couldn’t let that happen!
The alpha’s realization also hit his teammates, but Wen Huian calmly nodded, "Understood, Leader Shen."
Hu Feng also let out a sound and shook Qin Mian out of his leg. The alpha fell to the ground with a loud thud, his eyes looking at the eagle with utter disbelief.
Is it really necessary to drop him?!
But he could no longer ask that since the beta was already flying away with his injured friend dangling in one of his talons.

"Uhmm, Master Shen Yuan? Will we be o-okay?" The alpha with fox ears and tails asked. He didn’t want to sound like a coward, but in the end, his voice cracked.
Shen Yuan gave him a side eye and a small thumbs up, "Don’t worry. I am here."
The archbishop sent by the Cardinals laughed; behind him stood a mountain of snow ready to use at his disposal. "I didn’t notice it earlier, but now, I realize that the Hunter Association seemed to do their homework. You guys know what we want," he said, looking up and down at Shen Yuan’s hanfu. His lips flattened with distaste upon seeing nine luminous foxtails behind the omega.
"Are you trolling us? A failure is cosplaying what he failed to become. You don’t have any right to assume the Tailed Guardian, Shen Yuan. You’re a failed vessel!"
But the omega didn’t respond the way he liked it. He wasn’t aware that the platinum-haired beauty was mocking him in his head because of the irony of his words.
Indeed, ignorance is bliss.
Shen Yuan let out a mocking, very villainous laugh, "Actually, we are not sure about that part. But thank you for verifying our assumptions."
The archbishop gritted his teeth, "You impertinent harlot!"
With his big arm swing, much snow hardened into a white crystalline ice. It’s the size of a hundred-ton boulder, and without any difficulty, he flung it toward Shen Yuan,
The celestial fox spirit bravely met it halfway and tried to melt it with his foxfire.
However, this gigantic ice block was leagues different from the snow. It was compacted with thick layers of mana, making it harder for him to melt it.
Shen Yuan had no choice but to enhance his arm’s strength and decided to push it aside. But this was his miscalculation.
When his skin touched the ice, his senses were immediately with a numbing pang of cold!
"Damn! I’m thinking of catching you alive. But now, I made up my mind. I’ll fucking kill you!" Shen Yuan roared. To protect himself, the celestial fox spirit covered his hands, and to vent his irritation, Shen Yuan pushed and sent the ice boulder back to where he came from.
Boom! A loud clashing of ice and snow happens.
Shen Yuan nimbly hopped around the clash site, hoping to strike another surprise attack.
"Nothing?" the celestial fox spirit was caught off guard when he saw nothing but the mountain of snow, a crumbling snow wall, and the boulder. "Where the hell is that bast—"
Shen Yuan couldn’t finish his word because his senses started screaming at him. He subconsciously tilted his head, and the next thing he knew, something buzzed near his right ear.

An icicle as long and thin as a javelin almost impaled his head!
