Master Of Astral Summoner Chapter 64

"All right... Then be careful," said Nalira. "I’ll take care of Elsie and the courier. Catch up us when you’re done killing these creatures."

"All right. I promise."

Without responding to Chelsie’s words, Nalira simply grabbed Chelsie’s hand, and the courier continued running until they finally managed to escape the forest. Good, at least their position was safe now, and it was time for Shaan to think of a way to eliminate those two ferocious wolves immediately.

"Ugh, damn. This creature isn’t as easy as I thought." Shaan tried to block the wild wolf’s counterattack. "Robin Hood, don’t let the other wild wolf catch up to Nalira and the others."

[Got it, Shaan. I won’t let that happen.] Robin Hood quickly fired his arrow at the wild wolf, successfully distracting it. He kept firing arrows, but the wolf dodged all of Robin Hood’s attacks with agility.

[Damn it!] Robin Hood muttered. [If this keeps up, we won’t be able to defeat these two damn wolves.] Shaan pushed"Right." Shaan pushed the wild wolf away from him with all his strength. "We need a plan to defeat this creature," Shaan bit his lower lip, a look of frustration visible on his face. "There must be a way to—"

Suddenly, the ferocious wolf in front of Shaan launched a surprise attack, swinging its sharp tail toward Shaan. Fortunately, Shaan noticed this and quickly used his dual short swords to parry the surprise attack.

Sparks flew as steel met the beast’s deadly tail. The force of the impact pushed the creature back a few steps, giving Shaan a brief moment to breathe. Damn it. That was close. Too close. He couldn’t even begin to imagine what would’ve happened if he hadn’t seen that attack coming. That tail could’ve ended him in a heartbeat.

’I never expected this creature to be stronger than...’

A warm, slow sensation trailed down the side of his face. He reached up instinctively, with his fingertips came away wet with fresh blood. His eyes widened and his face turned pale.

"Damn it. Even though I blocked it... that tail still managed to cut me. It’s sharper than I thought." He wiped the blood from his cheek, heart pounding. "If this is the case, I need to be more careful with this creature."

The wild wolf immediately launched another counterattack toward Shaan. However, this time the creature kept attacking using its sharp fangs, leaving Shaan struggling to defend himself.

"This is bad. If this continues, my position is completely—"

Sadly, Shaan was too focused on fending off all the attacks from the ferocious wolves; he failed to notice a large rock right behind him. Instantly, Shaan lost his balance, and the wolf’s attack successfully threw Shaan’s body violently.

Shaan’s body slammed into a tree nearby, making it difficult for him to move. Crap. He never expected this creature to have such a terrifying attack.

[Shaan, hold on. I’ll help you.]

Robin Hood pushed the wolf in front of him with every ounce of strength he had, forcing it back. Without wasting a second, he rushed toward Shaan, who was struggling to get back on his feet. With full confidence, Robin drew his bow and fired a rapid volley of arrows at the wolf that had targeted Shaan.

[Shaan, we need to come up with a plan to defeat these two damn wolves.] Robin Hood drew his bow, preparing to wait for the attack from the two wild wolves. [If we can just restrict their movement even slightly, it’ll be way easier to bring these bastards down.]

"Yeah... you’re right," Shaan said as he slowly pushed himself back up, wincing through the pain. "B-but how? I’ve got nothing—no idea how to take these beasts down."

[There’s always a way. Robin Hood tried to reassure Shaan. [Just like you always do. You just need to breathe and look around. Same as you always do.]

[Come on, Shaan. You can do this. I’ll keep these wolves distracted while you figure something out.]

"Alright... alright, I got it." Shaan gave a small nod, determination slowly returning to his eyes. "I will give you some time."

When the two wild wolves attacked simultaneously and tried to attack Shaan, Robin Hood once again fired his arrows in rapid succession, and the two wolves turned their attention toward Robin Hood.

"Come on, Shaan. There must be something around here you can use to defeat these creatures."

As Shaan observed the movements of the two wild wolves launching their attack toward Robin Hood, he suddenly noticed two trees that were much larger than the rest of the trees in the area. Strangely, their positions were quite tilted, and it seemed like a single explosion would be enough to topple them.

"There it is!" Shaan snapped his fingers excitedly. "I’m sure this will work."

"Robin Hood, direct that creature toward those two trees." Shaan immediately directed Robin Hood toward the two trees not far from his position. "Make sure they’re close by and use your explosive quiver right away."

[Got it.] Robin Hood dodged the attacks of the two wolves and maintained his distance. [I’ll immediately use the explosive quiver to make the tree fall and destroy it, killing the creature,] he said with rising energy. [Brilliant plan, Shaan! I know this will—]

"No, not like that." Shaan shook his head. "That method won’t work. When the two wolves run toward you, I’ll give you the signal to use your explosive quiver," he explained. "However, don’t aim your attack at the tree, but at the ground directly beneath the two wild wolves."

[Wait, what?] Robin Hood fell silent for a moment. [Shaan, I don’t understand what you’re saying at all. Why should I aim my attack at the ground and not the tree?]

"Trust me, and you’ll understand what I’m saying."

Hearing Shaan’s words, Robin Hood could only nod his head. He was confused by his master’s idea, and it was evident from the confused expression on Robin Hood’s face. However, he had to believe that his master’s tactic would surely get them out of this situation.
