Xia Xin thought of this and suddenly looked at Wang Xinjun, asking, “Boss, could it be that Zixin really has a boyfriend outside that you haven’t noticed? Didn’t you realize that her expenses only started increasing within the last year?”
Wang Xinjun was taken aback for a moment and after thinking it over carefully, it indeed seemed to be the case.
“If that’s the case, you could go to some school and check it out, you might find your child’s whereabouts. If you find her, pass on my message to her, just tell her to be careful.”
Jiangli paused for a moment, then added, “This man is not her destined partner, and he is clashing with evil Qi; she should be careful of his betrayal.”
Wang Xinjun didn’t quite understand what this meant, as his mind was filled with the possibility that his daughter might have been bullied or even might have lost her life.
“I, I understand, Abbot, I’ll go look for my child right away!”
Wang Xinjun said, and ran out without looking back.
Xia Xin expressed his concern: “Ancestor, will their family be alright?”
“Haven’t you noticed?” Jiangli countered.
Xia Xin was stunned: “Noticed what?”
Jiangli was at a loss for words for a moment and then said, “His Children’s Palace is dim, sunken, and turning black, which indicates that he is likely to lose a daughter soon. How could you not recognize such an obvious sign in his face?”
Is that really the case?
He thought back carefully about Wang Xinjun’s appearance and didn’t notice anything.
Seeing his reaction, Jiangli sighed and said, “I really don’t know what the old Taoist saw in you.”
It wasn’t that she looked down on Xia Xin; with his abilities, he wouldn’t have even had the chance to be her Outer Sect Disciple in the past.
Yet now, he had become her direct disciple…
Jiangli turned and glanced at the statue of the patriarch facing the main entrance, wondering if the patriarch was somehow taking revenge on her.
Jiangli couldn’t be bothered with these thoughts any longer. Since he was now her disciple, she’d have time to train him gradually.
She turned to Xia Xin and said, “I’m hungry; go get me something to eat.”
Xia Xin hesitated for a moment, remembering that he had been eating at school the past few days, and there was no food or ready-to-eat meals left in the temple. He obsequiously suggested, “Then let’s go out to eat, to a restaurant. There are a lot of delicious things outside.”
Jiangli didn’t mind and nodded her head, then walked outside with Xia Xin.
Xia Xin, fearing Jiangli might find him useless again, followed her diligently, thick-facedly asking questions about things he didn’t quite understand.
“So, Abbot, by giving the boss advice, he won’t have to experience the pain of losing a daughter, right?” Xia Xin was most concerned about this, “The boss’s wife passed away early; now he only has this one daughter left, and he’s getting on in years. If anything happens…”
Jiangli spoke indifferently, “With life and death matters like these, you should have seen a lot while following the old Taoist, right? Xia Xin’s face turned somewhat gloomy, “That’s true, but…”
Jiangli glanced at him, “Although you’re not particularly gifted, you are rare in being a person of great kindness. Don’t worry, there shouldn’t be any big problems.”
Xia Xin was feeling sad, but perked up upon hearing her words, “Really?”
Jiangli nodded slightly, “He is the first person of fate I encountered after descending the mountain. Since he is fated, it’s an opportunity given by the heavens. And since I have intervened, rest assured that there won’t be any problems.”
Upon hearing this, Xia Xin finally felt relieved.
He grinned happily, preparing to take Jiangli to a nice restaurant for a meal.
After all, they had a good amount of earnings today, so they could enjoy a nice meal.
Xia Xin was in high spirits as he took out his phone, looking at the restaurant reviews on Dianping, when Jiangli suddenly leaned over.
“What is this thing? It even has pictures on it,” Jiangli asked curiously.
