Master Wood was immediately taken aback.
By all rights, there should have been only Liao Qianqian in this place.
Why was there another ghost?
Master Wood warily sized up Fu’er, unable to detect any evil qi emanating from him. He was old; perhaps he was just an ordinary man who died a natural death?
If that was the case, then he was nothing to fear.
With this in mind, Master Wood relaxed his expression and turned his gaze squarely on Liao Qianqian. He spoke righteously, "Liao Qianqian, now that you’re dead, you shouldn’t continue to harm others as a malevolent ghost. I urge you to surrender without a struggle, and not to fight in vain!"
"I’m a malevolent ghost?" Liao Qianqian had been bewildered, not understanding what Jiangli was going to do.
Hearing Master Wood’s words, rage filled her heart, "I’m a malevolent ghost, and what are you? You people are even more poisonous than ghosts! You helped Fu Yuxing to harm me and prevented me from reincarnating. What kind of Taoist are you, and what right do you have to say such things to me!"
"Resist toast, accept penalty drink, then don’t blame me for being impolite!"
Master Wood snorted coldly, never having intended to let Liao Qianqian go.
He raised the Mage Sword in his hand, ready to chop down on Liao Qianqian.
Xia Xin’s heart skipped a beat.
But then he heard Jiangli’s unsatisfied voice rise beside him.
"Why waste time? Just fight him!"
Turning his head in astonishment, he saw the ancestral spirit looking on with the demeanor of someone watching a play.
He had no doubt that if he were to give the ancestral spirit a bench and a bag of sunflower seeds, she could sit there and enjoy the show for the whole day!
Jiangli’s voice, inaudible to others, was clear to Fu’er and Liao Qianqian.
Only then did the two ghosts understand what Jiangli had intended for them to do.
Seeing Master Wood rushing at them, Liao Qianqian and Fu’er exchanged a look and immediately split up, then they joined forces from left and right, enclosing Master Wood within their attack.
Master Wood’s face darkened; he hadn’t expected that the two of them were in cahoots!
He gritted his teeth, glancing at Fu’er and still seeing no fluctuations of evil qi, he should pose no threat, so he turned his head and the first Killing Ghost Talisman was thrown towards Liao Qianqian’s face.
Liao Qianqian’s face changed, and she instinctively tried to dodge.
But Master Wood, as if he had anticipated her move, took hold of his Mage Sword’s hilt and thrust it at an angle, the blade coming down hard on Liao Qianqian’s shoulder with ferocious speed.
The speed was so fast that Liao Qianqian couldn’t react in time.
Xia Xin’s breath caught in his throat.
Jiangli, however, snorted softly and flipped her palm. A surge of qi struck Liao Qianqian’s back.
The next second, Liao Qianqian’s aura surged as if a massive force had entered her, and with a bang, Master Wood and his sword were sent flying away.
And his sword, though it struck Liao Qianqian, bizarrely left no wound.
Liao Qianqian glanced at her shoulder and, although it felt slightly numb, the pain was negligible, showing that the sword had not really affected her.
Realizing something, Liao Qianqian looked in the direction of Jiangli.
Jiangli, however, leaned against a tree, watching them lazily, as if she were merely enjoying a spectacle.
On the other side, Master Wood was bounced straight off and landed on his own Soul-Attracting Array. He leaned forward, a gush of fresh blood spurting out, and the formation flickered with a few flashes of red light, then emitted a burnt smell.
Master Wood, looking at his ruined formation, raised his head and stared at Liao Qianqian, utterly bewildered.
Just moments ago, Liao Qianqian had been powerless to fight back...
Why had she suddenly become strong enough to seriously injure him?
While Master Wood knew he was no match for a Xuanmen authority, Liao Qianqian was merely a common Evil Ghost!
How could she possibly be his match!
