"Good morning, husband."
The itch at the tip of his nose and the sweet murmur in his ears roused Chen Cheng on his second day in Shanghai.
He groggily opened his eyes, only to see Wen Shulin gently brushing his cheek with her lustrous black hair.
"Did you wake up so early?" Chen Cheng, seeing her beautifully made-up face, could tell Wen Shulin had woken up at the crack of dawn.
"I just want to show you my most beautiful side."
Wen Shulin did not hide her real thoughts.
As she spoke, she got up.
But Chen Cheng, his heart softening, pulled her into his embrace, "Did you sleep well last night?"
Wen Shulin felt his firm morning greeting and laughed, pushing against Chen Cheng’s chest, "You haven’t brushed your teeth."
Chen Cheng laughed along and then let go of her.
"You go freshen up, and I’ll make breakfast." Wen Shulin slipped out of bed, and then picked up a large hair clip to twist her hair up.
Chen Cheng, sitting on the big bed, asked, "Huh? You can cook?"
"Microwave heating, at least, right?"
By the time Chen Cheng finished washing up and came to the dining room, two plates were already on the table.
The toaster ’dinged’ as it ejected toast, and the vegetarian bacon in the microwave emitted a faint, lovely aroma.
Wen Shulin considerately poured Chen Cheng a glass of milk, placed some toast and jam on his plate, sliced the bacon, and a no-cook breakfast was ready.
They sat in the same spots as the previous night, "Don’t turn your nose up at it! This is all I can do."
Wen Shulin gave Chen Cheng advance notice, "The taste is probably just so-so, but it will definitely fill you up."
Chen Cheng smiled and took Wen Shulin’s hand, saying, "This is already great. With you by my side, anything I eat is a delight."
"Just your sweet talk!"
The two quietly enjoyed the cozy breakfast time. After eating hastily, Chen Cheng took the initiative to clean up the dishes while Wen Shulin sat aside, smiling as she watched him bustle about.
"We have about 4 hours left until we meet with them," Wen Shulin said.
Chen Cheng put the dishes into the dishwasher, "Shall we go out for a spin?"
"How about Yu Garden?" Wen Shulin suggested.
"Sure," nodded Chen Cheng.
"Then I’ll go change."
Chen Cheng gave an OK gesture, and Wen Shulin trotted upstairs.
About half an hour later, Wen Shulin, dressed in a cheongsam, reappeared before Chen Cheng.
The cheongsam was an elegant light blue shade, embroidered with a few delicate plum blossoms.
Her figure was graceful, the cheongsam fitting her curves just right, showing off her slender waist and the beautiful lines of her hips.
The exquisite frogtie at the neckline made her neck look even more slender.
The high slit of the skirt revealed her long, beautiful legs with each step, adding a charming flair.
Every step seemed to carry the tenderness and poetic charm of Jiangnan Water Town, leaving people spellbound.
"Do I look nice?" Wen Shulin twirled in front of Chen Cheng.
Chen Cheng had only seen her in business attire and had never seen her this graceful.
"This is too beautiful, isn’t it?"
Wen Shulin covered her mouth with a light laugh, "Your mouth!"
"I’m telling the truth. You look just like a fairy who stepped out of a painting!"
A girlish blush tinged Wen Shulin’s cheeks, "Alright, stop the sweet talk, let’s set off."
The two walked out of the door, and as Chen Cheng was considering what means of transport to take to Yu Garden, Wen Shulin led him to the garage.
The electric rolling door slowly rose, revealing six luxury cars before his eyes.
The smoothly-lined red Ferrari SF90, like a burning flame, lit up Chen Cheng’s adrenaline in an instant.
The white Bentley Bentayga, elegant and dignified; the Lamborghini Revuelto, with its sharp design.
The black Rolls-Royce Cullinan exuded solemnity and luxury.
There was also a Mercedes AMG GT and a Porsche 911, both radiating their unique charm.
Wen Shulin, holding Chen Cheng’s hand, said, "Choose one."
Chen Cheng’s gaze swiftly swept over the six cars, eventually settling on the Ferrari.
He simply pointed, and Wen Shulin took out the car key from a regular cabinet and handed it to him.
Chen Cheng eagerly got into the driver’s seat, started the car, and the roar of the engine instantly filled the air.
Wen Shulin sat gracefully in the passenger seat, "Ready to go?"
On the way, Chen Cheng indulged in the pleasure of driving a luxury car, while Wen Shulin sat smiling by his side.
Soon, they arrived at Yu Garden.
After parking the car, they walked hand in hand into the garden, filled with Jiangnan’s charm.
The winding cobblestone paths were flanked by shade trees and bright flowers.
Chen Cheng and Wen Shulin strolled among them, soaking in the tranquil and beautiful atmosphere.
They passed a quaint stone bridge with clear, babbling water underneath, where koi playfully swam about.
Wen Shulin excitedly pointed at the fish in the water, "Look how lively they are!"
Chen Cheng nodded with a smile, "This place is really nice. It feels like time slows down here."
Wen Shulin turned to look at Chen Cheng, "Shall we take a photo together?"
Chen Cheng, seeing that expectant look, readily agreed, "Sure. A selfie?"
Wen Shulin took out her phone, spoke briefly to a passing pedestrian, then returned to Chen Cheng’s side.
"Look at the camera!"
Chen Cheng stood erect, but to his surprise, at the last moment, Wen Shulin took the initiative to link arms with him, leaning her head on his shoulder.
Capturing this moment, to be cherished forever.
Wen Shulin thanked and took back her phone, looking at the photo, her lips curved in a satisfied and blissful smile.
