Because Alei had directly dismantled the iron gate of the cell and planted it into the ground to block the wolves, the prisoners inside the cell were at first dumbstruck and then, after Ning Fan and Alei had run off, all four prisoners ran out.
However, it was perhaps unfortunate for these prisoners, as a few wolves happened to leap over, and upon seeing the prisoners exit the cell, instinctively pounced on them.
"Bunch of beasts, get lost!"
The prisoners, drenched in sweat, had just prepared to drive away the few vicious wolves when the rest of the pack followed in quick succession.
What unfolded next was an exceedingly gruesome scene as the four prisoners, surrounded by the pack, were literally bitten to death.
The screams echoed through the long corridor of the cells as the pack licked the blood of the prisoners, growing even more frenzied.
Under the lead of the alpha wolf, the pack's speed increased rapidly, and in the blink of an eye they rounded the corner and spotted Ning Fan and Alei.
In a corner of the Death Prison, Dian Frey's trusted followers, clad in iron attire, watched the hunting operation on a tablet, laughing and chatting as they did.
However, when they saw Alei dismantle the iron gate of the cell with brute force, they all were stunned, and soon after, their headaches began when they saw the pack devouring the four prisoners.
"Damn, these guys can't die now, time to write another report!"
"But honestly, with the Frenzy Potion we injected them with and the stimulation from fresh blood, the effect is quite impressive indeed. In this situation, we'd probably be in trouble if we stood in front of them!"
Some cursed, others marveled at the ferocity of the now rabid wolf pack.
The wolves were bred by them, and their food wasn't any normal meat. To speak of food, the prisoners of the entire Death Prison were the food for the pack.
Unruly prisoners or those who had outlived their usefulness were released, and then they would play a game of escape with the wolf pack.
In the end, the prey would be mocked by the hunters until they had no strength left, and then be consumed by the pack in utter despair.
This time, however, they had spiced things up for the pack; each wolf had been injected with Frenzy Serum before release, and now, stimulated by human blood, they were more ferocious and violent than ever!
"Let them die if they die. For now, let's see how these two insects fare. I'm quite looking forward to watching them slowly fall into despair and then being eaten!"
There wasn't a single normal person in the entire Death Prison, especially amongst the prisoners. Facing such brutally vicious inmates, if they were normal, they'd be played to death alive by the others.
Perhaps they were normal before entering here, but afterwards, accustomed to this place, they had no choice but to survive .
Ning Fan and Alei gasped for air, the wolf pack closing in behind them.
Ning Fan looked back at the now crazed pack, his expression troubled.
"Is there nothing normal in this place, not even a single wolf?"
Or perhaps in this Death Prison, nothing normal existed at all.
No sooner had Ning Fan spoken than Alei stopped, unable to bear it anymore. Instead of running, he decided to take on the pack in a proper fight.
"Hey, what are you doing?!" Ning Fan looked at Alei in shock.
"Ah!" Ignoring Ning Fan, Alei pressed his hands against a nearby iron gate and then tore off an almost two-meter-high gate with brute force.
The commotion caused by Alei, combined with the howling of the pack, woke up all the prisoners around.
Ale roared, then charged towards the wolf pack with the iron gate in tow.
Facing the oncoming wolves, Ale transformed into a wild bull once again, lifting the iron gate and with a bullish charge, he scattered the wolves.
While roaring, Ale charged forward non-stop. After dispersing the wolves, he too tumbled to the ground, where the iron gate with a loud clang pressed down on two wolves alongside him.
Before the two wolves could even yelp, Ale crushed them into a pulp.
"Be careful!" Ning Fan shouted as he saw the pack lunge at Ale. He exploded with lightning-fast speed, reaching Ale's side in the blink of an eye.
Using his hand as a blade, Ning Fan plunged it into the underbelly of a leaping wolf, which was the most vulnerable part of the body.
With a squelch, Ning Fan withdrew his palm, now covered in blood on his cuffs and gloves.
Surrounded by the pack, Ning Fan and Ale stood back to back, one with his hand as a blade, the other holding the iron gate, ready for the imminent battle with the wolves!
Ale swung the iron gate at the surrounding wolves, but in the narrow corridor, the effectiveness of using the gate as a weapon was significantly reduced compared to charging with it.
So, left with no choice, Ale dropped the iron gate and with both fists charged into the pack.
Ale, who had plunged into the pack, immediately had three wolves clinging to him, but his body was as tough as steel and iron, fearing nothing.
The feral wolves' teeth pierced Ale's skin but failed to penetrate deeper.
Ale's fists swung like hammers at the surrounding wolves. His enormous strength meant that even a light hit could displace the organs of a wolf, and the less fortunate ones were killed by shattered organs.
"Die!" Ale grabbed the head of a wolf on his shoulder.
With a crack, his hand crushed the wolf's skull and then tore apart the other two wolf bodies clinging to him.
In less than five minutes, the ground was littered with the bodies of dead wolves.
"I've cleared a path here, let's go!"
"Alright, go first. I'll follow immediately!"
On Ning Fan's side, the ground was covered with dead wolves, all killed by his bare hands, either stabbed to death or their necks severed.
He had cleared a path; now they could leave.
Ale responded, and Ning Fan nodded. Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly sensed something and swiftly turned back to look at Ale.
Ale shouted loudly, lifting the iron gate that was on the ground, then slammed it down hard into the ground. The gate pierced ten centimeters into the earth, firmly anchored in place.
"You go get help. I'll hold them off, hurry!" With his back against the iron gate, Ale drew his sidearm from the sheath on his thigh.
In front of him, the pack had reformed their ranks, crowding the entire corridor and staring down Ale ferociously.
Ning Fan was stunned; Ale's actions shocked him.
"These beasts are too clingy. I'll play with them first, hurry up and rescue the people!"
Ale said, gasping for breath. He used the iron gate to block the wolves' path. He knew they could jump over, but with him here, he would not allow a single wolf to leap past and chase after Ning Fan!
"What are you standing around for, get moving!"
