The following morning, Ning Fan was somewhat surprised when he saw the abundant breakfast on the table and Xu Ruolan making breakfast.
It seemed that she had even prepared a special breakfast just for him.
Ning Fan did not hesitate to sit down and start eating, devouring a sandwich before teasingly saying, "Although Miss Xu's cooking is not bad, this hardly counts as a nutritious breakfast."
Xu Ruolan snorted coldly. The breakfast included milk, sandwiches, fruits, vegetables, and more. How could he complain it wasn't sufficient?
She demanded, "If this is not enough, then what does constitute a nutritious breakfast?"
Ning Fan looked at Xu Ruolan with a smile and said, "Well, let's say this, all these things, though plentiful, are still not as nutritious as the meals in my small solitary village."
Xu Xiaoqing couldn't help but interject, "Idiot, Sister made breakfast with her own hands, and you still have complaints? What kind of nutritious breakfast could your little village possibly have?"
Even though Ning Fan claimed it wasn't nutritious, he wolfed down the breakfast voraciously.
After finishing a glass of milk, he said, "Two eggs, a deep-fried dough stick, and a cup of soy milk—that is the most nutritious breakfast."
"One deep-fried dough stick?"
Xu Ruolan and Ning Fan asked and answered each other, leaving Xu Xiaoqing gaping beside them, then she rolled her eyes at Ning Fan.
"Idiot, you're such a hoodlum!" she said, then stood and walked out the villa's front door.
It took a while before Xu Ruolan seemed to grasp the implication and then looked at Ning Fan with a disgusted expression.
Helpless, Ning Fan thought that this wasn't about being a hoodlum at all—when the old man was alive, that's exactly how he used to instruct him.
This was indeed how Ning Fan used to eat, "Don't get the wrong idea, this really is a nutritious breakfast!"
After making a brief appearance in the security department, Ning Fan headed for the beautiful CEO's office.
Along the way and in the elevator, colleagues gave him curious looks, making Ning Fan feel like he was a celebrity within the company.
Indeed, he was a well-known figure in the company, as the events of the past few days were still fresh in the coworkers' minds.

He recognized the assistant who seemed to be named Li Na, always by Xu Ruolan's side, young and pretty.
Ning Fan looked over at the beautiful assistant, Li Na, who was wearing a black low-cut waist-tight short professional suit with light brown slender legs in a pair of black high heels, her figure curvaceous and perfect.
Looking at her profile, she was also quite attractive, but Ning Fan found it a bit strange.
Li Na's face seemed tense as she looked around furtively.
Hiding behind the curtain, Ning Fan's eyes flashed with purple light, piercing through the curtain and focusing on Li Na.
Li Na was stealthily putting something in Xu Ruolan's cup. It wasn't unusual to put something into a cup.

He merely watched her every move from the shadows.

With an indifferent tone, Ning Fan said, "Assistant Li Na, it seems you have something to say; go ahead and finish your call, I'll wait."
Li Na was so scared that she hung up the phone, turning around to stare at Ning Fan in shock.
Ning Fan saw that Li Na was quite frightened, and he said with a smile, "The poison in President Xu's cup was your doing, wasn't it?"
Upon hearing Ning Fan's question, Assistant Li Na's expression changed instantly, and she looked at Ning Fan with a cold gaze.
"What do you mean by that?"

"Ning Fan, I don't understand what you mean, I'm going to go downstairs now."
Ning Fan chuckled coldly; she still wouldn't admit it at this point?

That smile was far from friendly, and Li Na could tell. She stayed silent, just staring at Ning Fan.
If she spoke out, the person behind the scenes would never forgive her. Not only would she be finished, but her whole family would face death.
Therefore, Li Na remained silent.
