"You?" Kong Dongming looked at Ye Xiu in confusion and questioned him. "I heard from your aunt that you earned the title of Medicine King ten years ago, but then you were framed. You fled the country and we lost all contact. When did you get back?"
Since Qiu Yunxuan and Kong Ruoruo hadn’t visited him in a month, Kong Dongming didn’t know Ye Xiu had returned to the country, nor was he aware that Ye Xiu had cleared his name.
"It’s a long story. I’ll explain everything properly after we get out of here," Ye Xiu said.
Only then did Ye Xiu turn his gaze to the two prisoners. "Speak. Who ordered you to kill the Qiu family in that car crash? And who ordered you to assassinate Kong Dongming in this prison?"
"Who the hell are you? What gives you the right to interrogate us?" Prisoner A retorted thuggishly.
BANG! Ye Xiu’s foot slammed into Prisoner A’s chest. With a sickening thud, the man spat out a mouthful of blood and flew backward, crashing hard against the wall.
GASP! Kong Dongming and Prisoner B both gasped in shock. He sent a grown man flying and spitting blood with a single kick?
Qiu Yunxuan and Kong Ruoruo, however, weren’t surprised. After all, they knew Ye Xiu was a Great Grandmaster.
"I’ll ask you one last time," Ye Xiu demanded. "Who instructed you to kill the Qiu family, and who ordered the assassination of Kong Dongming in prison?"
"I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about! If you’ve got the guts, kill me!" Prisoner A roared.
PFFT! "As you wish." The man died instantly. Ye Xiu walked over to Prisoner B and said coldly, "Speak, or die."
Prisoner B didn’t say a word, staring blankly at Prisoner A’s corpse. Kong Dongming, Qiu Yunxuan, and Kong Ruoruo were also stunned into silence. No one had expected Ye Xiu to actually kill someone, and so decisively at that.
"Murder! He committed murder!" Prisoner B finally snapped out of it and ran to the cell door, howling.
His shouts jolted Kong Dongming, Qiu Yunxuan, and Kong Ruoruo from their daze.
Kong Dongming snatched the dagger from Ye Xiu’s hand and declared urgently, "Everyone listen! I was the one who killed him. It has nothing to do with Ye Xiu." With that, he charged at Prisoner B. I have to silence him!
In Kong Dongming’s mind, he had to take the fall for Ye Xiu’s crime. But with Prisoner B still alive, he wouldn’t be able to shoulder that burden. His only option was to silence the witness for good.
"Murder! He’s trying to kill me!" Seeing Kong Dongming rushing toward him with murderous intent, Prisoner B shrieked in terror, scrambling and dodging frantically around the cell.
For a moment, a deadly chase played out inside the cell between Kong Dongming and Prisoner B.
Watching this scene, Ye Xiu was deeply moved. Since the death of his mother and grandparents, besides Qin Qing, only his uncle was willing to bear any burden for his sake.
"Uncle, don’t kill him yet!" Ye Xiu cried, flashing in front of Kong Dongming to block his path.

"Answer my questions, and you can continue to live out your days in this prison. If you refuse, or if you lie to me, not only will you die tonight, but your entire family will die with you," Ye Xiu said in a voice as cold as ice.
THUD! "I’ll talk! I’ll talk!" Prisoner B cried, dropping to his knees. His last shred of hope was gone.
"Speak, and give me every detail," Ye Xiu commanded.
"Yes, yes!" Prisoner B said meekly, rushing to explain. "Ten years ago, the Ming Family’s Miss Ming Yue approached me and Jiang Yong—that’s the man you just killed. She gave us each 200,000 yuan to stage a car accident and kill the couple, Qiu Mingyu and Qiu Yue..."
Ming Yue? Rage exploded within Ye Xiu. So the Ming Family was the mastermind behind the deaths of my mother and grandparents, as well as the three members of the Qiu family.
"Was it also Ming Yue who ordered you to assassinate Kong Dongming in prison?" Ye Xiu asked.
"No, not Ming Yue. It was the third son of the Lian family, Lian Chengbi," Prisoner B said.
Lian Chengbi? Ye Xiu paused, then turned to Kong Dongming with a puzzled look. "Why would Lian Chengbi want to kill you?"
"He was in love with your aunt. After she married me, he started to hate me," Kong Dongming explained awkwardly.
Ye Xiu’s eyes narrowed. One of his objectives for this trip to Qingfeng Road was to sabotage the marriage alliance between the Lian family and Shen Family. Originally, he hadn’t planned on dealing with the Lian family so harshly.
