I am not gonna go into some half-ass back story here while desperately trying to make it interesting. I was pretty much like any other normal underachiever out there. In both of the world.
YUP.
Me dying, which by the way I have no idea how, might be my biggest accomplishment. After all how many people can claim that they are reincarnated into another world?
Now I am called Yuta. Got no last name and even this name was given to me by the old lady who adopted me. She had no children and her husband died in a villain attack.
Villain? Well, we're going to come to that soon enough.
Granny was very nice to me, but unfortunately, she passed away when I was only 11. RIP Granny.
She used to tell me that she named me Yuta because I was her only hope to keep on living. Well, I never liked the name before but now I guess I am proud of the name.
In my previous life, I have read many reincarnation stories so it was easy enough for me to understand what was going on. But the surprise didn't stop there.
The world I am reborn into is no normal world, this is the world of heroes and Villains. A world previously I read about in manga and saw in an Anime.
This is My Hero Academia.
Honestly, I loved the anime but being reborn into it was a little too much. It wouldn't have been bad if I had some awesome quirk, a particular power people in his world are born with. Around 80% of people in this world have some kind of superpower. All sorts of powers.
This happened many years ago when a child somewhere was born with superpowers. From then on there was an explosion of superhuman beings. Even animals and plants have superpowers.
So it's pretty much a gene lottery and luck which will define how high a person can go in his world. Either one can get a strong quirk or a quirk which can make you a lot of money. Otherwise, this world will be hell.
And to my utter irritation and dismay, I'm quirkless. So you better believe when I saw that life can be hell without superpowers as I know first hand.
In manga or anime, it was pretty funny but in reality, I realized just how F*ck up the current world is. Quirkless are in the minority and everyone wants to suppress them. It's really hard to get a decent job for them and society is just littered with fake heroes.
I can't believe that I had changed my entire city just to escape those bullies. Granny had a lot of debt to pay, so most of her things got auctioned off. I had to move from the house I used to stay in so there is that too.
'Sigh'... good thing that I was making my own money by that time otherwise, I have no idea what would I have done.
What I do some might ask, well I draw manga. I got a ton of ideas from my last world. Agree that many of them I have forgotten but with a little bit of personal touch here and there, I am making my living.
Better than going into some kind of orphanage. But that's fine, that all happened 4 years ago.
Unlike most people who reincarnate, or at least what I read in fan fiction. I didn't have all my memories since my birth. They came to me slowly. So it's not like I had much advantage in terms of knowing the plot either.
As I was looking around for a shop to get something to eat, I suddenly heard some commotion. Very common in this world. Making superpowers means that some one gonna use their powers for good while some will use them for bad.
If there are heroes then there are bounds to be some villains, right? I can't remember much about this world from my past life. Everything is hazy at best.
"Well whatever is happening there, it's blocking the road," I mutter with clear irritation on my face.
Sighing I did the only thing I could have done, wait there and see what happened.
As I got closer I realized that the entire place was on fire, the roads and the surrounding buildings were on fire. And in the middle of all was a ...hmmm some kind of mud monster. It looks very similar to 'MUK' from Pokemon.
There were many heroes there as well. I can't remember their names, not that big of a hero fan you see. I always like DC and Marvel but not this.
Maybe the line from Incredibles suits the best here.
"IF EVERYONE IS SPECIAL, THEN NO ONE IS,"
But I drive my attention from the destruction of public property and the useless Hero's not doing much to the villain who actually looked like working hard. The dude is going strong even after being surrounded by 8 or so heroes.
Respect man.
But only then I found what was happening, the reason why the heroes were not acting was because that bastard took a hostage. Suck to be him ma.....
I blink, like suddenly remember something out of the blue. My eyes widened to extreme proportions as I immediately looked around. Trying to find two distinct hair colours. One Blond and one Green.
And there was it, the man himself looking at the villain attack with much helplessness. The number one super hero All Might. Well, he looked more like a skeleton to me but I remember he has two forms so I just dealt with it.
Where is the other though? I looked around trying to spot the protagonist of this story.
"Hey kid, stop. That's dangerous," shouted someone and my eyes immediately darted at the sound.
I saw a frail-looking boy running towards the monster. My eyes widen.
He looked quite weak, I at least exercise daily to gain my top shape. In this dangerous world, a quirkless person like me only has their bodies and wits to rely on after all.
And then it happened.
Well actually nothing happened, as nothing was happening at all. It was like time itself stopped.
"What in the world," I muttered to myself.
Before I figure out what happened, a sudden window popped up in front of me.
