MHA: Man Of Steel Chapter 76

The day went on normally after that little hallway drama. Eventually, Aizawa dismissed them with one final reminder: they had two full weeks off to train, refine their quirks, and prepare for the upcoming Sports Festival.

Most of the class buzzed with excitement or stress. Some were already making training plans, others nervously calculating what events they might excel in.

Izuku? He leaned back in his chair, hands behind his head.

'Two weeks off, huh? Everyone's about to break their backs training, and me… well…' He smirked. ' I don't really need to. Guess this is basically vacation.'

By the time he arrived home, the sun had dipped low, painting Musutafu in streaks of orange and purple. He slipped off his shoes, greeted Inko with a quick hug, then trudged upstairs. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ novᴇlfire.net

In his room, he tossed his uniform aside and pulled on a comfy black hoodie and sweatpants before plopping into his desk chair. The computer screen lit up, reflecting across his glasses as he powered it on.

"Man, it's been a while since I touched this thing," he muttered, stretching his arms.

The familiar hum of the machine was oddly nostalgic. A few clicks later, he pulled up his games library, scrolling past dozens of titles. ' Let's see where I left off…'

His mouse hovered over an RPG save file that was embarrassingly behind on updates. Another click revealed his old campaign.

"Level 42… still stuck at the ice dungeon. Pfft, easy." He smirked. "Bet I could beat the boss faster than All Might finishes a speech."

The faint clack clack of his keyboard filled the room as he dove back into the digital world, completely forgetting about villains, training, or the looming Sports Festival.

For now, Izuku thought, leaning closer to the screen, it's just me, snacks, and a bunch of virtual monsters who don't stand a chance.

....

Two Weeks Later

Today was the day many people had been waiting for—the U.A. Sports Festival.

This wasn't just some school event; it was an Olympic-tier spectacle, the kind that had long replaced the old world's games when quirks took over society. The stadium overflowed with spectators, every seat taken.

Thousands more tuned in from their living rooms, cafes, even offices, watching the broadcast as if their lives depended on it. The roar of the crowd was a constant wave, shaking the very walls of U.A.'s arena.

Down in the prep room, Class 1-A sat in a tense silence.

Izuku leaned back on the bench, eyes fixed on the ceiling. ' Well, today's the day,' he thought.' I don't plan on holding back at all. Might as well show everyone what I can really do. Let's hope they make it fun.'

His classmates were a different story. Every face around him told the same tale—nerves, determination, focus sharpened to a blade's edge.

Kirishima was cracking his knuckles, muttering something about becoming "manlier than ever."

Ochako held her fists together, whispering under her breath, "For Mom and Dad, I'll do my best."

Momo had her eyes shut, reciting formulas and strategies in her head.

Bakugo was already vibrating with rage in the corner, like a ticking bomb that couldn't wait to explode.

Everyone here had pushed themselves in training, breaking limits, fine-tuning quirks, devising strategies for any scenario. To them, this wasn't just about winning—it was about staking their claim in the world of heroes.

Izuku glanced at them all, then smirked faintly. Yup, tension's so thick you could cut it with Aoyama's belt buckle.

Suddenly, a tap on his shoulder snapped him out of it. He turned to see Todoroki staring down at him, expression unreadable.

"Sup," Izuku said casually.

"Nothing," Todoroki replied flatly.

"I just want you to know—I will beat you. You're strong, Midoriya. But I won't lose to you." His voice carried that same cold confidence, but his eyes burned with hidden fire.

Izuku blinked once, then tilted his head. "…Umm, sure. Let's both try our best."

He turned away slowly, lips twitching as he fought back a laugh.' Man… this is so middle-school coded. Like, bro, did we just anime rival speech in real life?'

Across the room, Bakugo suddenly stood up, pointing at both of them. "Tch—don't act like I'm not here! I'm gonna blow both your asses straight outta the damn stadium! Got it, nerds?!"

The room tensed again, but Izuku just leaned back and closed his eyes.

' Yeah… this is gonna be fun.'

Soon after, they all began to walk out, the crowd cheering on loudly. The sheer roar of thousands of voices hit them like a wave, a wall of noise that vibrated through the ground beneath their feet.

Colorful banners waved in the air, people screamed names, and camera drones floated overhead, capturing every angle. Izuku basked in their roar, it fueled him as he felt his Adrenaline pumping. His heart raced, not out of fear, but exhilaration.

Present Mic began to amp up the energy with his booming voice, the stadium lights dancing as if they reacted to his tone.

" Hello everybody! Today is the day we've all been waiting for!! The U.A Sports Festival. Each year we watch U.A's fledglings battle it out. Now let's introduce our classes. First up—the awesome rising stars… CLASS A!"

The crowd erupted even louder, chants of "Class A!" echoing. Students glanced around nervously, some smiling, some pale with nerves.

" Woah, there's so many people" one student muttered under their breath.

" One day I'll perform in front of this many people," another whispered dreamily.

" I wonder if I do well, I'll attract any girls," someone said, earning a few disgusted looks from the girls.

Then a darker mutter broke the tension.

" This is the perfect stage to kill that broccoli-headed Deku."

Everyone turned toward Katsuki, who immediately scowled, sparks popping from his palms.

" The fuck you looking at!" he barked, his voice practically shaking the front rows with its volume.

' Dude really is a hot head' Izuku thought, hiding his amusement behind a calm expression.

Soon they stood in neat lines separated by class as the R-Rated Hero, Midnight, strutted onto the stage.

Her heels clicked against the polished floor, her whip slung casually at her side. She raised her mic, her sultry voice carrying across the stadium.

" Now it's time for the Athletes' Oath, and this year, our student representative is… Izuku Midoriya!" she announced, throwing him a playful wink.

The crowd erupted again, some people chanting his name while others clapped thunderously.

Izuku smiled faintly as he walked through the mass of students, the spotlight following him. The cheers felt like a pressure on his shoulders, but instead of weighing him down, it gave him strength. He climbed the stairs, stood tall at the mic, and looked out at the sea of expectant faces.

" Heil Hit—"

[ A/N: Im joking!! ]

A few confused murmurs came from the crowd, but Izuku simply leaned closer to the mic and said calmly,

" Good luck to everyone."

The stadium went silent for a beat before bursting into squeals and cheers, mostly from the girls in the audience.

" He's so humble!" one shouted.

" Wow, even though he was first, he thinks for everyone else. Men like him are rare these days," another said dreamily.

" I know what I'm writing on Wattpad tonight—" a voice carried over the noise.

"Huh, for real? What do you mean there's stories about him already? And they're shipping him with Katsuki?" someone else whispered, making a few people laugh.

Izuku acted like he didn't hear any of that as he walked down the stage steps and stood back in line, his hands slipping into his pockets.

' I wanted to say something cool, but I couldn't think of anything,' he thought as he smiled faintly at himself.

Midnight stepped forward again, twirling her whip as she smirked.

" Kind words from this year's Student Representative. Now, without wasting any more time, let's begin! This is the qualifier—most of you will be going home in tears after this. The first event is an… OBSTACLE COURSE RACE!"

The announcement shook the stadium as the crowd roared again, the energy so electric it made the air feel alive. Students exchanged glances, some smirking with confidence, others gulping nervously as the ground beneath them shifted, panels opening to prepare the massive obstacle course ahead.
