Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva Chapter 48

In the afternoon, after Hexia had prepared a new batch of ingredients, she handed them over to Huale for concoction.

"There isn't much left after this batch is finished," said Huale casually, putting the beverage on a tray for Hexia.

Hexia carried this round of drinks to the guests, and this time something slightly changed.

"Are you new here?" asked the customer, who looked to be in his thirties, dressed in a dark grey suit. Thin green lines and text flashed continuously across the gold-rimmed glasses on his nose, seemingly analyzing something.

"Yes," Hexia replied, holding the plate in front of her.

"Interesting, you study the Withering Sequence, don't you? That's quite rare."

"I have a question for you."

"Regarding the Fourfold Ring structure of the Soulmark Seal, if I want to add a formula that specifically eliminates interference from normal human souls and reveals those fragmented and abnormal targets, how should I solve it?" This wasn't a textbook question or knowledge.

"Well..." Hexia contemplated carefully, taking about half a minute before she began to speak.

"I don't know exactly what to do. I only have a rough idea. Using a formula to guide the exclusion of results is too difficult; branding structures are not as convenient as AI systems. It might be better to use an Enchantment structure for inscription, and then feed the detection results back into the AI for it to analyze and filter the results."

The man continued to ask, "Then, how can we input the detection results into the AI system? This might be possible with the Spirit Particle Sequence, but the Withering Sequence is not good at it."

"It's not impossible..." murmured Hexia, not very confident. She had attempted this back in school.

"You could use a counter of the Spirit Particle Sequence to arrange the frequencies and then adjust the exclusion."

"Hmm, that is indeed an idea, but it's still a bit rudimentary. After all, counters can only distinguish binary information. Perhaps we could try the high-order Chaos Model..." he mused thoughtfully.

"Alright, I've taken up enough of your time. Thank you."

"It's no trouble at all," Hexia said, readying herself to leave.

"Wait a moment," a voice called out from behind, halting Hexia.

"What's your code name?" he inquired.

"Okay, got it, Miss Dantalion."

After completing the meal delivery task, Hexia returned to the bar. It was now four in the afternoon, and the number of guests was gradually decreasing.

"That's about it for today," noted Huale, checking the time.

"How are you feeling, Dantalion?"

"I was a bit nervous at the start, but now I seem okay, mainly because I haven't encountered any particularly troublesome guests."

"That's true," nodded Huale.

"Actually, the higher-end the restaurant, the fewer troublesome guests there will be because the prices filter out many difficult customers."

"The most challenging to deal with are those who have some money but aren't very wealthy. They might not often come to this type of restaurant or cafe, holding high expectations for high society because they're paying a premium for the experience."

"In reality, our service cannot be exaggerated, so they experience a gap and become picky, enjoying making trouble for us to satisfy their sense of superiority."

"As for the wealthiest bunch, they're actually not that hard to deal with because coming to our place for them is as simple as going down to buy a bottle of soda; very familiar and natural. Just like how you might casually eat at a street-side diner, they're not inclined to deliberately trouble the staff. They'd rather finish their meal and leave early."

"However, there are also those who are arrogant and domineering. After all, we can't say all rich people are good. Some are just bad, and there's no helping it. When you come across such types, you have to be careful, Dantalion. We use code names instead of real names to protect ourselves."

"Every job has its difficulties," Hexia reflected internally.

"Alright, Dantalion, you're free to move around now," Huale said to her with a wink.

"Eh? Is it over?" Hexia asked, puzzled.

"Not exactly. There are just very few people ordering hot drinks now, so you can do something else."

"Let's see, you could go to Belfeng's area, or else you could go and help out at Andusia's place."

"Okay, I got it." After thinking it over, Hexia chose to go to Belfeng's side. She hadn't seen this senior for several days after all, as it had been Belfeng who had shown her the way and recruited her to the store.

Crossing through the various bars and sections of the main hall, Hexia arrived at the gaming area, where Belfeng was in the midst of a battle with a guest.

"I activate 'Sanctuary of the Zodiacs' effect, sealing one of my opponent's minions this turn, then summon 'High Priest of the Star Tracks, Xarande.' Upon entry, if 'Sanctuary of the Zodiacs' is present, randomly draw a Ritual Card into my hand and activate it for free this turn."

"I activate the 'Stargazing Ritual,' revealing the top three cards of my deck and activating the effect of a spell card among them."

"Turn over 'Piercing Holy Spear,' 'Aquarius Palace Maid,' 'Equilibrium Scales.' Use 'Piercing Holy Spear' to destroy your minion 'Rulna Alchemist,' then play 'Equilibrium Scales' to bring my hand to the same number of cards as my opponent..."

On the battlefield, Belfeng fought fiercely, and the surrounding spectators buzzed with conversation. It wasn't until the battle ended that things quieted down.

"Wow, 'Dantalion,' you finally came," Belfeng emerged from the crowd, jogging over to Hexia, then circling around her excitedly.

"You seem to have changed a lot, Dantalion."

"What's changed?" Hexia felt a little nervous. Was she still being influenced by her sister?

"Hmm, it's hard to say. You seem bolder? No, that's not right. Quieter? No, that's not the word either. Oh right, it's probably a bit more self-assured. Not like before. The old Dantalion was like a startled rabbit, trembling and ready to bolt at the slightest thing."
