MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith Chapter 655

Though Valyr had brought the question up to Ryvrthe in order for the latter to give him an answer, it wasn't as if the young man didn't have any ideas as to how the Sapient One had knowledge of such things.

With how Ryvrthe had access to such futuristic technology like the monitor-looking item that allowed him to learn his language, it wasn't far-fetched to think that he had another item that gave him a comprehensive overview of what had occurred in the past.

Then again, such a claim was dubious at best.

Briefly glancing at the pile of scrap metal parts Ryvrthe had grabbed the two items from earlier, the young man noticed that there wasn't really a lot of usable technology within the pile.

Even if there was, those items were in a state of eternal disrepair. After all, no one among the Forsaken race or the human race in the outside world had the knowhow to fix such items.

Of course, Valyr was no exception to this, even if he had a large wealth of knowledge stored within his mind. After all, the game didn't really go in-depth on such information for players unlike what he had experienced from the advancements so far.

Moving away from the claim of having a futuristic item that had a comprehensive record of history, the young man thought of the possibility of Ryvrthe having a class that allowed him to peer into the past.

This idea had surfaced in his mind thanks to the murals that ran along the corridor walls, recalling how the man had sat under a pillar for over a century before seemingly having the answer to all the problems his people were facing.

With that in mind, Valyr was somewhat tempted to use [Superior Analysis] in order to find out whether his claim or not was correct.

Though, with how Ryvrthe seemed to be against the usage of the system's features, the young man eventually decided not to risk the possibility of angering who was basically the answer to almost all questions regarding the underground.

'Perhaps he just has an incredibly long lifespan? Or a skill that extends his lifespan?' asked Valyr to himself as he stared at Ryvrthe, who had gone silent after he had asked his question.

Intently looking at the man that sat before him, Valyr gradually sensed the faint aura emanating from Ryvrthe, feeling as if the aura was detached from his surroundings.

Closing his eyes for a bit as he tried to look deeper into the man's aura, a thought eventually popped up into the young man's mind.

'Though he might be purposely hiding his aura from me, the parts of his aura I could sense tell me that there's a possibility he's actually a Myth.'

With how those at Rank 5 with comprehended Forces could live for close to 800 years, it went without saying that Myths had a lifespan that far surpassed Legends.

From what Valyr could recall, those at Rank 6 already had a lifespan spanning over 2,000 years, while those at the higher ranks had lifespans that allowed them to live through the rise and fall of many empires.

Then again, as he thought about long lifespans, the young man was reminded of a set of skills that could achieve the same thing even if one hadn't transcended mortality.

From what the name of the skill implied, [Longevity] was a passive skill that greatly increased a person's lifespan by multiple times.

At its weakest, one's lifespan would be doubled, while its strongest versions could extend one's lifespan by ten times, a hundred times…

Even a thousand times wasn't impossible.

In fact, obtaining the skill was more or less a given for those at the higher ranks of what constituted as Myths, which mostly had something to do with expanding and internalizing their comprehension of the world at the same time.

Then again, Valyr quickly dismissed the thought as the possibility of someone like Ryvrthe having such a skill was immensely low.

'I should actually try and get my hands on that skill at some point.' As the thought briefly passed through his mind, the young man eventually reached the end of his train of thought, staring at Ryvrthe as what could be the most improbable possibility popped up in his mind.

Ryvrthe being a reincarnator, just like him.

"Well…" Feeling like the two of them had been staring at each other in silence for quite some time already, Ryvrthe decided to break the silence as he looked at Valyr with a slightly bitter smile.

"I don't mind telling you the reason as to how I know all of that… but I'm pretty sure that once I'm done explaining, you're going to be skeptical of my claim," said the man.

Valyr shrugged in response. "So, what's the reason?"

"Remember how I mentioned earlier that the humans of the past were an incredibly advanced civilization?" Shrugging back in response, Ryvrthe took in a deep breath as he sorted out the thoughts in his mind.

"Yeah?" Valyr nodded, raising his eyebrows in slight curiosity.

"And remember how I said that they had the ability to modify genetic code to achieve whatever they want?"

"What I'm saying is that…" Rubbing his hands for a bit, Ryvrthe let out a faint sigh. "I'm one of those humans that had their genetic code modified."

"Specifically, my genetic code was modified in a way that a great portion of my memories would carry over onto my offspring, allowing me to start anew, but with the knowledge I had before."

Seeing that Valyr remained silent, Ryvrthe decided to continue. "Thanks to how it was modified, the genetic code would also carry over onto my offspring, allowing me to accumulate more and more knowledge the more generations pass."

"Eventually, after seeing that my people's lives have gradually worsened over time, I decided to make use of the knowledge I've accumulated to help them out, allowing me to become the race's Sapient One."

"…" For a while after Ryvrthe's explanation, Valyr was left at a complete loss for words. After all, the answer he had received was not even a possibility he had thought of.

Nevertheless, after some time had passed, the young man let out a faint sigh before looking at the Sapient One with a calm expression. "I now understand why you say I'd be skeptical."

"I definitely won't hold it against you if you are." Ryvrthe wryly smiled.

Valyr awkwardly smiled back. "It does explain how you know so much about what had happened a long time ago… but how would prove to me that it's true?"

"Oh, that's quite simple." Hearing the young man's question, the Sapient One let out a faint chuckle.

"Just use an identification skill on me."
