The humor in her protective chiding made Quan Jingwu laugh, teasing, “Then where is mine?”
“I thought you don’t like these things?” Jian Qing nonchalantly said.
Quan Jingwu was instantly speechless, “…”
Jian Qing wriggled out of his embrace and trotted to sit on the sofa. She then pulled out a gigantic box of ice cream which was seemingly larger than her face.
Opening the box, Jian Qing took a big bite with a spoon, savored the rich and cold chocolate flavor, instantly beating the heat.
Quan Jingwu walked over and sat beside her. Seeing her satisfied expression as she ate, he shook his head helplessly.
Upon noticing the gigantic box of ice cream, he frowned, “Why did you buy such a big tub? Your stomach is weak, just take a few bites to satisfy your craving. You can’t eat more.”
Jian Qing, happily engrossed in eating the ice cream, didn’t pay attention to his words and just absentmindedly nodded.
“OK, that’s enough.”
A large hand drifted in front of her face, followed by her ice cream being ruthlessly snatched away.
Holding the spoon, Jian Qing unhappily turned to look at him, “I only had three bites.”
While he would usually indulge her, he was unyielding on this matter. Quan Jingwu reached out again and took her spoon.
“We agreed. You can only have a little.”
Jian Qing pouted her reddened lips, her clear eyes pleadingly focused on the ice cream he was holding, “Then how about one more bite, just one.”
Quan Jingwu saw her covetous look and chuckled.

With that, he scooped out a little with her spoon and held it up to her lips.

Jian Qing frowned, and then negotiated, “This bite is too small, can I have a bit more?”

Jian Qing quickly grabbed his hand, bit the spoon, and swallowed the last bit of ice cream.

Her stomach wasn’t good. Eating too much cold ice cream wasn’t beneficial to her.
Jian Qing nodded her little head several times, “But it is the best food in summer.”
Quan Jingwu looked at her, lifted her chin with his hand and chuckled, “Well, then. I’ll compensate you.”
“Buy me another box of ice cream.” Jian Qing’s sparkling eyes looked up at him.
Quan Jingwu hooked his lips into a smile, “For one kiss.”
A sudden urge to curse overwhelmed her. What to do?
“…”
“If you don’t speak, I’ll take it as a yes.” Quan Jingwu said.
As the words fell, he wrapped his fingers around the back of her head and quickly placed a light peck on her lips.
“So sweet!”
Upon hearing that, Jian Qing’s eyes twitched violently.
The rage built up inside her was intolerable and felt like punching someone. Before it could erupt, the man’s casual comment suddenly soothed her inner fury.
“I had Qianshi Restaurant make you some desserts. They’ll be delivered by noon.”
She was big-hearted and wouldn’t stoop to his level. She decided to let it go.
Jian Qing had a smile at the corner of her mouth and playfully pushed him, “Go on, get back to work.”
