Shaking his head, Simon quickly disregarded what he saw. He knew time was tight, and the more people he rescued, the lesser his guilt became. He knew saving everyone was impossible, but at least he tried, right?
Breathing heavily, Simon knelt on his knee, tired from the constant battling, especially after the Great Hole appeared. Those metal monstrosities dealt far more damage to the city than the SCREECH! and the Demon King's army did, and they did a lot. How the fuck on Earadun am I supposed to fight shit that can vaporise me in one shot!
Beside his tired body lay Lewis, busy bandaging the wounded. Bandaging the last child, he scrunched his eyes, worried about from where the mechanical monstrosities came. "Simon, we need to go and check that great big hole. I have a vague hunch about where they came from..."
Looking as if he had brain damage, Simon glared at him. "Well, no shit! Obviously, they must've come from that huge ass hole! In all my years, I haven't seen creatures like those, not even the great library dad kept back in the..."
Trailing off, Simon quickly turned silent, realising he had spilt far more than he should have. Raising an eye, Lewis grew intrigued. For all these days he spent with Simon, he never knew his past.

Getting her message, the child stumbled up, waddling off, waving her hand as thanks. Wuping her forehead, the hooded figure rose back up, her huge assets spilling from the cloak.
"Phew! That's one more person saved. Need to go faster..."
Removing her cloak, Celine wiped her face from dust before removing the Orbs circling the perimeter, dispelling the illusion she had set up to ward off the army. Why... why did she lie!? She promised, she promised...
