She scoffed and said, "Can't I just come here to see my son?"
He scoffed in return. "Not with a tone like that. I don't believe that you came all the way here from the Dyson family to see me only for you to break my weapon as soon as you arrived and behave as if I forced you here. You can be unreasonable sometimes, but you are too smart and scheming to behave like that."
She nodded in agreement and said, "You're right. I didn't come here for you."
He smiled and said smugly, "I knew it."
She rolled her eyes at him. "Guessing that I didn't come for you isn't that great of an achievement."
"Anyway. I came here in order to hunt."
He looked at her strangely when he heard that. Then he said, "You hunt? Why?"
"Not thay it is any of your business. But I've been keeping an eye on a certain python. I want its scales to make it into a special dress. Unfortunately, carcasses at the second mortal coil are very expensive. The cheapest one can go for 1,000 gold coins, and it can reach up to 10,000 gold coins."
"Plus, at my stage, mortal money begins to lose its effect. Other cultivators want blood pills, weapons, or spirit stones. I am severely lacking in those since I'm still weak in the second mortal coil, and I just recently became one. I also lack influence. The title of mistress is worth nothing in the second mortal coil. So I had the idea to hunt the beast myself."
He nodded in agreement and said, "It is a good idea. That way you won't be so lazy anymore and put on weight."
She threw her glass cup at his head in anger.
He flicked the cup away and watched it shatter on the ground in the distance. Meanwhile, she picked up the whole bottle of wine and began drinking from it directly.
From the way she was drinking, he was willing to bet that she would finish the whole bottle soon. It would be a bad thing because he only has a little wine left in his cup.
As he was watching her guzzle the wine, he sighed and said, "I guess I deserve that."
She smacked her lips after a while and said, "Good wine. I hope it won't make me fat."
He groaned because he had confirmed from her that she would finish the wine. She intends to finish it. The only thing she is worried about is not gaining weight after.
She continued, "I want to hunt. But I don't dare enter the green forest without some plan and assurance. Beasts at the second mortal coil are fiercely territorial. It means that as long as I don't enter their territory, they won't bother with me. But as soon as I enter their territory, they will surely come after me."
"This rule is easy to understand. It means that what I will fight in the green forest is not dependent on what I am looking for. It is dependent on whose territory I enter first. If the python is nowhere around, I would have to fight something else. I don't like that."
