Mountain Sitting Immortal Chapter 68

Ruff didn't understand the bulk of what he was saying. He just opened his mouth and breathed loudly as he listened attentively.

When Arthur was done speaking, he took Ruff into the plains.

He didn't ride Ruff so as not to look conspicuous. Instead, he had the two of them stay close to the ground and creep towards the target.

This target is a demonic beast that he had sworn great vengeance upon ever since he was three years old when he first came across it.

He has been biding his time for this great revenge for a long time. But now that he is leaving the compound, he has decided to complete his unfinished matters so that peace will be restored to the world and justice will be done.

The two of them were quiet as they moved across the plains. But despite doing their best, their great enemy still got wind of them.

It was truly the wind that betrayed them. The wind brought their scent down towards the target, so it became alert. Its alertness helped it perceive the subtle noise that he and Ruff were producing as they crossed the plains.

After discovering their location, the deer raised its head and stared straight at them.

At first, it was confused about their presence on the plains at night. It wasn't afraid because it doesn't think they will do anything to it. It was just confused because people rarely enter the plains.

But then it recognized Arthur through his wild red hair. It became angry immediately and rushed after him.

Arthur smiled evilly when he saw the deer rush towards him. To be more accurate, it was rushing towards his head and the hair on it.

He didn't run away despite facing the charge from this great beast. He stood his ground and said, "Today, your reign of terror will end, and the world will become a better place for it."

Then he said to Ruff, "Go and get it, boy."

Ruff barked in understanding and dashed to meet the deer.

He rushed after Ruff and called out after it, "Go for its legs."

He is faster than Ruff actually. But he doesn't want to be the first to encounter the deer for his own safety and that of his scalp.

He doesn't actually know what level of strength the deer possesses. This is why he is cautious.

He felt it was right to be cautious when he saw that the deer didn't back down despite Ruff approaching it quickly. The deer wasn't afraid despite Ruff being four times its size.

The deer lowered its head and used it to ram Ruff in the chest when they collided.

Arthur's scalp when he saw Ruff being knocked back and heard his poor dog yelp in pain.

He said to himself, "I was right. This beast is a demon. It is a menace that must be eliminated at all costs for the peace of the world."

He said that, but his mind was mostly on the divine taste of the deer meat he had when his mother had captured and killed the pompous deer that followed him home after assaulting his scalp.

He can still remember the taste of that meat even after eight years. It was that delicious. He would like to taste it again, so he didn't back down from the fight.

He took out his sword and dashed towards the deer.

His actions drew the attention of the deer. It ignored Ruff and focused on him.

It lowered its head and began kicking the ground as it prepared itself for another ramming attack. Ruff took that opportunity to go for its leg.

The large dog bit down onto the thigh of the deer. Unfortunately, he didn't succeed because the deer jumped away and even kicked him in the face for good measure.

The man and dog surrounded the deer and fought a great battle for the ages. They worked together to bring down the great demon king.

The fight wasn't as epic as it sounded. The deer was killed after a few seconds of fighting by Arthur's sword. He had chopped off its head after getting within reach of it.

No matter how impressive the deer was, it couldn't take on good strike with a sword to its neck. It died just like any deer would.

Their battle didn't shake the earth and wake up the dead. But it created enough ruckus to draw the attention of the other deer grazing nearby.

They witnessed him kill one of their own. But instead of running away like normal deer, they all rushed at him.

He said to Ruff, "There are too many of them. Let's go, boy."

He didn't forget to pick up the carcass of the deer in his hurry to escape. Then he jumped onto Ruff's back and escaped with him.

Unfortunately for them, things didn't end there because the herd of deer followed them all the way home. The deers were hell-bent on revenge, so they didn't shy away from trying to break into his house.

They rammed the stone walls and wooden doors again and again in their quest to gain access to his house. It looked like nothing would convince them to give up.

Arthur and Ruff looked through the window of Lady Vena's house at the house on the other side of the street that was being besieged by the herd of deer.

He said with relief, "Fortunately, I didn't lead them back home and used a decoy to fool them."

He hadn't rushed to his own house when he was being chased. He knew just how vengeful the deers could be after experiencing it once, so he broke into someone else's kitchen and came out on the other side where the deers couldn't see him.

It was an escape plan that he had prepared before the hunt. Now it has saved him by fooling the herd of deer.

The house was a decoy for him, but it was someone else's home and those people were not ready for the trouble that he brought onto them.
