Gu Annan wasn’t entirely at ease, so he opened all the cabinets to take another look, making sure there were no extra beddings left.
Only then did he relaxedly grab a towel to wipe his wet, shiny black hair, slowly leaning towards the edge of the bed.
After her shower, Lu Wanwan wore the spacious hotel-provided kimono-style pajamas, which draped loosely over her body.
She had her hair tied up in a bun and clutched her clothes tightly, pretending to be calm as she walked out.
Once she reached the living room, she was taken aback to see the sofa completely bare, without even a cushion left behind.
She rubbed her eyes vigorously, wondering if she had been dreaming about making the bed earlier.
Without saying another word, Lu Wanwan dashed to the bedroom door, “Gu Annan, what about the blanket and pillow that were on the sofa?”
The man seated on the bed was working on his laptop, appearing deeply engrossed in his work.
Without looking up, he replied, “Don’t know, they must have been taken away.”
She grew a bit anxious, “Taken away? Do they still clean the rooms at this hour?”
Gu Annan couldn’t be bothered with her petty worries.
“Fine, I’ll contact the front desk.”
As she was about to turn around, she heard Gu Annan’s displeased voice, “Do you want the hotel staff to know that my fiancée sleeps on the sofa?”

He continued to work intently, giving the impression that saying another word would be a disturbance.

“Then, may I… sleep beside you?”
The typing Gu Annan paused his fingers for a moment and said casually without a care, “Whatever.”
Without hesitating any longer, she slipped into the bed, exhaling a long breath of relief!
Then, like an ostrich, she turned her back to him, refusing to see or dwell on his current reaction.
Listening to the steady keyboard sounds, her tension began to ease.
Gu Annan was busy with his work; what was she worrying about for no reason!
Even if she were to lie next to him without a stitch on, it probably wouldn’t distract him from his work.
The fatigue began to creep up slowly, and she drifted off into a half-sleep.

She was lying supine in the middle of the large bed, yet the space left on either side was insufficient to accommodate another person.
