Lu Wanwan didn’t have much time to argue with him; it was their last morning together, and she still had work assignments.
“I didn’t know since I was asleep.” She swore earnestly, “Don’t worry, there definitely won’t be a next time. And aren’t you returning to the country today?”
Gu Annan raised his eyelid, “Did I say I was returning to the country? Who delayed me for so much time yesterday?”
“I also need to return to the country today.” Her heart raced under his dark gaze, and she hurriedly added, “I have to go to work tomorrow.”
“Work is your affair. But all my business partners know you are my fiancée, can you really go back alone?”
Lu Wanwan, tears streaming down her face, clutched his clothes, “Then could you please hurry up and handle this? Taking leave will deduct from my pay. I’m already going to be scolded when I get back for this work error!”
He glanced at her irritably, “Stupid!”
To scold her for no reason, is he sick!
She pleaded gently, “Gu Annan, considering I made this difficult journey to Japan, suffered huge losses on my own, just to secure a few more percentage points of benefit for you…”
“You came to find me?”
“…Without the business trip, I couldn’t afford the plane ticket.”
“Did you come to find me on your business trip?”
Her guilt was evident under his sharp questioning.
“Anyway, please just return today for the little help I did give,” Lu Wanwan begged with her hands clasped together, “I don’t want my pay docked!”
Gu Annan’s face didn’t look any better, now reluctantly accepting that her trip to Japan actually had nothing to do with him.
His cold eyes gazed down at her, tempted to bite down hard on her lips that refused to say what he wanted to hear.
“Gu Annan? Gu Annan?” Lu Wanwan gently tugged at his clothes, her voice tense under his gaze, “Gu Annan, please hurry…”
The repeated sound of his name in her ear broke through his restraint; though the hand pulling on his clothes was gentle, it triggered a dazzling pain in his temples.
He quickly leaned down, kissing her deeply.
His voice was hoarse and unclear, “Okay, I’ll hurry…”
The hurry she meant wasn’t this kind of hurry!
She meant to hurry up and go to work as there wasn’t much time left!

Lu Wanwan lay in bed, holding the blanket, her eyes listless as she watched the neatly dressed, handsome man by the bed.
Her mind was still reeling from what he had said right before getting up, “Don’t try to provoke men in the morning.”
When had she provoked him?
To keep her distance, she had even slept on the edge of the bed last night, nearly resorting to sleeping on the floor!
“I still have some things to handle. Breakfast will be brought to the room in a while.” Gu Annan, buttoning his shirt, spoke, “Rest for a bit. I’ll head to the airport after I return.”
Lu Wanwan lay on her side, staring blankly at his retreating figure.
Gu Annan, not hearing a response, turned around, his pressuring gaze making her immediately reply, “Okay.”
She lay weakly in bed, hugging the blanket, boneless.
His lips tightened lightly, his dark eyes withdrew from hers and refocused on the mirror.
If it weren’t for the fact he indeed had things to sort out this morning, he wouldn’t be letting her off so quickly.
“If you have things to handle, use the last bit of time left. I won’t give you an extra minute when I return.” He picked up the document on the desk, instructing her in a cold tone.
