Mr. CEO Has a Crush on Me Chapter 288

Lu Wanwan was suspicious in her heart, but she didn’t pay much attention to Linda’s slight unfriendliness towards her.

Yesterday Linda had watched her get into Gu Annan’s car and leave, so she had prepared herself for hostility.

As she waited and waited, finally the time to leave work arrived, and she left work with a bit of a probing mind.

Just as she was waiting for the elevator, the one from upstairs stopped at their floor.

Coincidentally, Gu Annan and the director were inside the elevator.

“Mr. Gu…” She hesitated, “I, I’m off work.”

At that moment, she should have wanted to avoid seeing him the most, so she wouldn’t be pulled back for overtime.

But she was actually looking forward to his reply, having felt ignored and forgotten the entire day.

“Mhm.” Gu Annan didn’t even spare her a glance as he and Kevin left the elevator.

Kevin was very curious, “No overtime today?”

He didn’t stop walking toward the office, and Lu Wanwan heard his reply to the director, “It’s just an intern, she can’t do much.”

She stood in front of the elevator doors, not entering even as they closed.

She should have felt happy, but suddenly her heart tasted bitter.

This state of lacking something continued for several days, and she was completely forgotten by Gu Annan.

“Lu Wanwan, are you looking for Mr. Gu for something?” Gu Annan’s assistant saw her, unexpectedly, after not seeing her for a few days.

“I have a draft I’d like him to see,” she found an excuse with great difficulty.

“You can show that to Editor Liang; there’s no need to find Mr. Gu for such a small matter. He doesn’t have the time for that.”

Lu Wanwan was hesitant, “Did he say that?”

“Yes, there’s no need to find him for this kind of thing.”

She couldn’t stop mocking herself internally, asking for clear boundaries between work and private life; wasn’t this keeping things professional?

As an intern, she should have no work interactions with the big boss anyway.

When the elevator doors opened, Gu Annan also stepped inside.

Her heart skipped a beat as she looked at him.

Gu Annan said indifferently, “Is there something?”

“…There’s nothing now.” Lu Wanwan watched the elevator doors close, aware that he had no intention of saying anything else, “I’m about to get off work.”

“You don’t need to tell me that sort of thing.”

“Gu Annan, when do you get off work?” Her tone was soft and hesitant.

After a silence, she heard his cool voice, “I don’t know.”

Lu Wanwan’s heart grew anxious, like claws were endlessly scratching at her, refusing to settle down.

He got off at another floor, without uttering an extra word.

When it was time to leave work, Lu Wanwan stood in front of the first-floor entrance, watching the torrential downpour that had started without her knowledge.

She hadn’t brought an umbrella, and it was about a ten-minute walk from there to the subway station.

Lu Wanwan paced back and forth at the door, the rain showing no sign of stopping, Gu Annan nowhere to be seen.

Bowing her head, she walked back and forth along the tile line.

Suddenly, a pair of clean, shiny leather shoes entered her field of view, and she abruptly looked up.

“Are you off work?” She watched Gu Annan stop in front of her, his gaze lingering on her unusually.

“Yeah.” He looked at her coldly, adding nothing more.

“It’s raining outside.” Lu Wanwan put her hands in her jacket pockets, her eyes wide as she looked at him.

The wind at the entrance was strong, and she, wearing only a thin knitted sweater jacket, seemed even more slender and fragile in the breeze.

Her eyes were especially bright, looking at him with deep intensity, and he quickly became unsettled by her gaze.

“Didn’t bring an umbrella?” His usual reticence and aloofness gave way as he asked an additional question.
