"..." She paused for a moment, then quickly said, "I like someone who doesn’t talk much to others, but talks a lot to me."
Gu Annan was about to open the car door for her, his hand hadn’t touched it yet when he suddenly drew it back.
He reached out to encircle her waist and pulled her close.
"This is a parking lot." Her back was already up against the car door, Gu Annan’s tall figure leaning down over her.
"I know." He still didn’t let go, his strong hand forcing her head back towards him, and he bowed his head to kiss her.
Lu Wanwan initially wanted to move, but her hand was directly caught by him.
A slight pain on her lips, like a warning.
She opened her eyes, a trace of dejection falling over her eyelids before she finally closed them and reciprocated the kiss.
After what felt like an eternity, her lips were finally released, and her legs felt a bit wobbly.
"You actually like it this way."
The cool night breeze blew by, slightly cooling the temperature on her face.
Hearing that, she felt her face grow hotter again.
When she looked up, she saw no trace of a smile on his face, his dark eyes still cool and bright, like dazzling yet distant stars.
"How have you been feeling lately?" He gently caressed her face with his fingertip.
"My mood lately?" She thought about her recent mood; wasn’t he very clear about it?
"In the past couple of days... is there anything that made you unhappy?"
Lu Wanwan wrapped her arms around his neck, tilting her head slightly.
Was it because of what she asked him yesterday, that he still felt she was unhappy?
"No, I thought it would be difficult to find evidence on Lin Yu, but now that we’ve made this progress, I’m quite surprised. Thank you." After saying that, she felt that thanking him seemed too distant, so she leaned forward and kissed his chest.
She could feel the man seemed to chuckle, his chest vibrating with it.
"About that photo, honestly, I don’t think it’s a big deal, and I’m not angry." She continued, resting her chin on his chest, "It’s been so many years, maybe someone secretly disliked me back then, or perhaps one of your admirers was annoyed seeing me clinging to you all the time."
Gu Annan pinched her cheek and took two steps back, opening her car door, "Once we find the person, I’ll take you to see for yourself."
Lu Wanwan nodded, "Finding them or not is fine with me."
He got into the car and quickly started it.
The car left the hotel parking lot, and there was a moment of silence inside the vehicle.
She was looking out the window when she suddenly heard him say, "You can tell me whatever happens, no need to thank me."
Lu Wanwan turned her head, her hand that was resting on the edge of the car window still propping up her chin, "Like what?"
"At least in Manchester, there aren’t many things your husband can’t handle, you don’t need to worry about causing me trouble. Your little troubles are trivial matters to me." He drove, his gaze fixed ahead.
She inexplicably felt that Gu Annan’s words were somewhat serious.
Maybe it was because of Jin’an?
Had he realized that she wanted to take back the Ye Family’s assets?
"Did you hear me?" Gu Annan didn’t hear a response and turned his head to see her deep in thought, "Anything on your mind recently?"
"No, I’m thinking about how to trouble you." She smiled lazily, leaning against the seat and closing her eyes, "Wake me when we arrive."
She would think about how to break the news; maybe telling him about their marriage and Jin’an’s shares wouldn’t be a big deal after all.
Maybe he was just waiting for her to come clean.
Lu Wanwan closed her eyes in thought, and as she did, she fell asleep.
On the way, Gu Annan’s phone lit up, and he quickly answered as it began to ring.
