"Really?" Lu Wanwan was quite puzzled. Jiu Li had already left, so whose meal could they possibly join now?
Her phone vibrated, and when she looked down, Little Momo had finally replied to her text.
"Mommy, we’re having breakfast at the Redwood Restaurant on the first floor and we’ve found an uncle who would be suitable to be your boyfriend. Do you want to consider meeting him while you’re here?"
Lu Wanwan smiled at the message. The two little ones had clearly not given up on their plan to find her a boyfriend.
Wait a second, the Redwood Restaurant, isn’t that this place?
Lu Wanwan exited the message and looked up, matching the photo with her surroundings without a doubt.
"Mommy, come quick." Little Youyou’s cute and tender voice came as she looked down to see her daughter pulling her by the hand into the restaurant. "You must be starving."
Still with a sleepy face and looking bewildered, Lu Wanwan followed her daughter inside. "Did you save some delicious food for me?"
"The uncle who wants to meet you has already ordered it. He said it’s your favorite!"
Lu Wanwan felt a wave of skepticism, amused. How could a stranger claim to know her favorite food?
"Mommy, over here!" Little Momo waved.
Lu Wanwan looked up to see the open cubicles partitioned off into separate spaces. She spotted Little Momo instantly.
The person opposite Little Momo, however, was obscured by the partitioning wall.
"I already said no to matchmaking," she said, feeling speechless.
It seemed that in a moment, she would have to clear up this misunderstanding with the gentleman and then pay for the meal herself.
Little Youyou led her to the table, and then adroitly hopped onto the sofa across to sit beside her brother.
"Mommy, this is... this is Uncle Gu!" Little Youyou’s voice was loud and clear. "Uncle Gu, this is my mommy. She’s pretty, isn’t she?"
When Lu Wanwan saw the man sitting across from the two little darlings, her eyes widened and she was speechless.
That was... Gu Annan.
Could it be that she was still not fully awake?
She almost reached up to rub her eyes.
Gu Annan turned his head, slowly laying down his fork, his dark eyes calmly gazing at her.
"Pretty, I like it," he said at a leisurely pace.
A series of inward thunders rolled. She was completely stunned.
"Uncle, introduce yourself! My mommy is very picky," Little Youyou said quietly, lifting her hand.
Gu Annan extended his hand, his eyes half-closed, looking at her. "Do I need to introduce myself?"
Little Momo, eager to take credit, introduced him. "Mommy, this uncle says he only costs three hundred and eighty a night. Do you want to consider buying him to be our daddy?"
"Mommy, brother is right!"
Lu Wanwan felt an indescribable feeling, as if cursed internally.
Especially when she was still half asleep, it felt almost like a dreamlike illusion.
Seeing his mommy at a loss for words, Little Momo said, "Mommy, don’t worry. I brought money. If it’s not enough, I’ll help you pay!"
Gu Annan pointed to the seat beside him, gesturing for her to sit down, while his lips parted softly, "No need, your mommy... has paid a long time ago."
Lu Wanwan sat down as if in a dream, then suddenly came back to her senses. "Didn’t you refund the payment?"
"I refunded the payment, but not the goods." He placed a piece of bacon on her plate, warning her with his gaze as if saying, are you sure you want to bring that up now?
"..." What on earth was happening today?
"Come on, open up." Seeing her just sitting there blankly, he forked a piece of bacon and brought it to her lips. "It’s your favorite."
