"Stop making excuses for your mom. She’s always thought I bring bad luck and have too much negative energy. She didn’t like me at all. Wouldn’t her attitude have changed if it weren’t for the incident involving He Meiwei and your dad deeply humiliating her?"
"I still hope you two can get along peacefully and amicably."
"I’ll see how she treats me in the future. If she treats me well, I’ll treat her well."
Long Yubei smiled at her, "Good girl."
Back at home, after they freshened up, Gu Lili lay in his arms, his broad arms gently wrapped around her as they read the same book.
It was a warm family comic.
The orange light shined upon them, and the silent bedroom had a warm and cozy feel.
As they turned the pages, Long Yubei’s hand enveloped hers, the warmth in his palm circling the back of her hand.
Before finishing the comic, Gu Lili had already fallen asleep in his arms.
He reached out to put the book on the bedside table, turned to her, and sneakily took a few photos of her sleeping.

Suddenly, he thought that if he also set her voice as his ringtone for incoming calls, it would be perfect.
After a good night’s sleep, Gu Lili woke up to heavy rain outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Long Yubei’s alarm went off, she reached out to grab the phone to turn it off, and suddenly noticed that his screensaver was a picture of her.
Seeing the screen that second, she was genuinely thrilled.
Gu Lili pinched his cheek, "Wake up..."
"Hmm..." He opened his sleepy eyes.
"You actually took sneaky photos of me while I was sleeping last night, Long Yubei, do you really need to sneak photos to get your wife’s picture?" She sat up, opened his camera, and took several selfies.
Pulled down by him, Gu Lili lay with him, pulling the blanket up to her neck, held up her hand and took a few more photos of them together, and finally picked a few of the nicest ones to keep.
"Do you know how to record a ringtone?" He wrapped his arms around her waist. "Record one for your husband, and I’ll use it as a ringtone, what do you think?"
Gu Lili rolled over and lay there, one hand propping her cheek, the other pressing the record button, opened her mouth and began, "The unintended you, and the naive me, a romance amid the worldly dust, just because of life’s brief stuck moments without words, perhaps it’s the world’s error, or karma passed from a previous life, a lifetime’s worth, willingly traded for a brief interaction between Yin and Yang..."
She sang a flowing tune in one go, pressed the stop button, turned her head to ask him, "What do you think?"
