Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback Chapter 2

Chantelle didn't care about the wealth or possessions of the Wilson or Bently families. To her, they meant nothing.

But at the start of her struggles, she had promised that as long as she was alive, she would come back for revenge on Kate.

She wouldn't let Wesley's killer slip away, nor would she let those who had framed and slandered her escape without facing the consequences.

She wouldn't carry the heaviness of Kate's lies while she thrived at her expense.

Suddenly, her assistant, Calvin, quietly reminded her, "Ms. Bently, Mr. Wilson's car is at the bottom of the hill. We should leave now."

Chantelle's eyes flashed coldly. She put her sunglasses back on and gave Wesley one last respect. "I have to go now, Wesley. I'll visit again next time."

That "next time" would be on Kate's death anniversary.

Chantelle carefully made her way down the hill, being cautious not to stumble in her high heels. "Is everything set for the charity dinner?"

"Yes, I've already blacklisted Ms. Kate from the Global Charity Banquet! She's done a lot of charity work in Wesley's name and has been called Easthan's charitable princess, right? Well, this time, she won't be able to participate in the charity event. This will reveal her true nature. Let's see how she will marry into the Wilson family after this scandal!"

Chantelle gave a satisfied nod. "Well done, Calvin. By the way, make sure to keep an eye on Kane; don't let him run off and cause any trouble."

Kane was Chantelle's son and a rebellious troublemaker among her three children.

As the saying goes, the world is small. While Chantelle and Calvin were making their way down the hill, they unexpectedly crossed paths with Daniel and his group.

Daniel was surrounded by bodyguards in black, but Chantelle caught a glimpse of his tall, handsome figure. He, too, was dressed in all black, his dark eyes sharp and piercing like a hawk's.

Even the simplest of his gestures exuded authority, like a ruler giving commands.

In the five years since she had last seen him, he had matured and become even more prominent, carrying himself with an air of arrogance.

He was not someone to be taken lightly.

Under his leadership, the Wilson Group Of Companies had managed to survive its toughest times.

In just five short years, the company had grown to become the third-largest economic power in the world.

Its market value had skyrocketed, making the Wilson family immensely wealthy and a dominant force in the nation of Kastovia.

Behind him, Chantelle noticed Kate, whom she hadn't seen in a long time.

Kate wore a luxurious black dress, looking flawless with her carefully done makeup.

She followed Daniel with a sad, almost innocent expression, looking like a vulnerable young girl.

The years seemed to have been kind to her.

Chantelle walked past the group, not even glancing at Daniel. But from behind her sunglasses, she shot Kate a cold, mocking look.

At that moment, Kate was happily imagining the life she would have as Mrs. Daniel Wilson.

She felt an immense happiness knowing she had finally gotten rid of Daniel's troublesome son, Railer, on this day of Wesley and Chantelle's death anniversary.

As Chantelle walked past her, Kate suddenly felt a sense of danger.

She had never seen a woman with such untouchable beauty and grace before, so she couldn't help but glance at Chantelle with envy. But something about her made Kate anxious, though she couldn't figure out why.

The feeling grew stronger when they reached Wesley's grave and saw the fresh bouquet of lilies placed there.

Daniel straightened up against the strong winds and stared at the flowers, knitting his brow. "Who's been here?!"

Kate immediately thought of the mysterious woman she had just seen.

But when she looked around, the woman was already gone.

Who was she to the Wilson family? Why had she come to honor Wesley?

No, Kate quickly shook off the thought. She told herself she was overthinking it; all the people who had ever stood in her way were dead.

There was no way they could come back and threaten her.

Just then, someone noticed something was wrong.

It was Ashton Wright, Daniel's assistant.

Looking around, he realized that young Railer, Daniel's son, was missing.

Railer had come with them to the cemetery.

In a panic, he rushed to Daniel. "Sir, Railer seems to have disappeared."

Daniel stopped in his tracks, his face turning cold. He looked around at everyone and demanded, "What do you mean?"

"Railer was definitely with us just a moment ago, sir. It's my fault; I wasn't paying enough attention..." Ashton said, worried.

Kate, of course, knew exactly where Railer was. But she pretended to be shocked, acting as if she had just realized the boy was missing.

She put on a panicked expression, almost to the point of tears, and began searching everywhere.

"How could this happen? He was right here! How could he just vanish like that?"

"Hurry up and find him!" Daniel ordered, his voice cold.

"Yes, sir," Ashton replied quickly.

As Chantelle reached the bottom of the hill, she glanced back.

She hadn't expected Daniel to bring that murderous Kate to Wesley's grave of all days!

It seemed Kate had gotten too comfortable in Chantelle's absence.

She even had the audacity to pay her respects to the man she had killed.

But Chantelle was certain that Kate's false happiness wouldn't last.

She was looking forward to the moment when Kate would kneel before her, crying and begging for forgiveness.

Just as she was about to get into her car and leave, she suddenly heard a faint cry for help.

Chantelle looked around and saw a little boy at the foot of the hill, badly beaten and bruised.

Her face changed in an instant. She quickly ordered, "Go help him!"

Calvin ran over and returned shortly, carrying the boy in his arms. "Ms. Chantelle, it looks like he slipped and fell down the hill."

Chantelle immediately told Calvin to bring the boy to the car and lay him down on the back seat so she could check on him herself.

The little boy's face was covered in blood, making it hard for Chantelle to see his features clearly.

His black suit was stained with blood, and his breathing was shallow.

A cold sweat had started to form on his forehead, and he had stopped trying to move.

It was clear that the boy was badly hurt. He had multiple broken bones and severe bruises.

If the trees hadn't caught him, he likely would have died.

Luckily, there were no internal injuries, and Chantelle was there to help him.

Despite that, the pain was overwhelming for the boy, and he looked terrified.

He clung to Chantelle desperately, refusing to let her go. "I'm scared... help me, Mommy..."

His terrified plea instantly broke Chantelle's heart.

Chantelle quickly ordered, "Call Russell right now and head straight to the hospital!"

"Yes, Ms. Chantelle!"
