,"What are you, my boss?" Titus Zane leaned on one hand, his smiling face appearing a bit hazy, yet on closer inspection, it was crystal clear.
"I can hold my liquor very well, a thousand cups without getting drunk."
Nathan Moore noncommittally curled his lips and thought to himself, a thousand cups? That night, you hadn’t even had ten before you were dead drunk.
He pushed a glass of red wine towards Titus Zane. When Titus reached for it, Nathan hadn’t had time to withdraw his hand, and their fingers touched unexpectedly, electrifying, so Nathan quickly pulled away.
Titus, on the other hand, just smiled faintly, looking at Nathan like a shy, naive young boy, the smile at the corner of his lips growing stronger.
Suddenly, he felt a mischievous urge to tease. In the past, Nathan always bullied him, now it was his turn to take some back.
"Cheers." Titus Zane raised his goblet in front of Nathan Moore, slightly tilting his head, resting it on the back of his hand, with upturned eyes, staring intently at Nathan.
Nathan lifted his head, meeting Titus Zane’s gaze, his obsidian eyes somewhat hazy with a drunken kind of enchantment, and he was stunned into silence.
"What’s wrong?" Titus Zane slanted his head slightly, raising an eyebrow with a teasing smile, exuding charm.
"Don’t you want to drink with me?"
"No, that’s not it." For the first time, Nathan Moore suffered from ’tongue-tied syndrome’, his eyes downcast but unable to hide the unease on his handsome face.
"Hehe..." Titus Zane covered his mouth with his hand holding the goblet, chuckling, wondering why he had never noticed Nathan Moore’s adorable side before.
"You’re mocking me!" Although he spoke through gritted teeth, the words held no bite.
In the flickering neon light, Nathan Moore’s handsome face was softened, his lips slightly raised, and the smile reached all the way to his eyes.
"Nathan Moore, how come I only just realized," Titus Zane stopped laughing and said.
"Realized what?" Nathan Moore asked subconsciously, his handsome face tense with emotion.
"You’re so cute." After speaking, Titus Zane erupted into a fit of laughter.
"Be careful not to fall off." Nathan Moore, slightly helpless, extended his long arm to support Titus Zane’s back to prevent him from falling off the high stool.
"Don’t, I’m not a child." After the laughter subsided, Titus Zane gathered his brown hair, appearing quite haughty.
It seemed like only then Nathan Moore noticed her hair had been straightened.
Withdrawing his arm from behind Titus Zane’s back, Nathan Moore’s eyes were filled with fascination.
"You look better with your long hair flowing."
Titus Zane paused while gathering her hair, as if she hadn’t quite heard Nathan Moore’s words. Looking straight into her eyes, Nathan Moore seriously repeated, word for word,
"I said, you look very charming with your long hair flowing."
"Really? I don’t see it."
Instinctively, Titus Zane looked around, and although men glanced over occasionally, their eyes held no adoration or anything of the sort.
"Quit looking around!" Sitting on the high stool, Nathan Moore slid backward on the ground, nearly completely shielding Titus Zane, displaying a possessive and domineering demeanor.
"So petty." Titus Zane propped up her forehead, looking at him with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, her bright eyes slightly blurred.
After saying that, she turned back around, took a sip of red wine, and then reached for her shoulder bag, pulling the golden chain forward and opening it.
She opened the clasp, reached inside, and pulled out a pack of women’s cigarettes and that exquisite lighter, then opened the cigarette box and put a cigarette between her lips.
"Let me help you." Nathan Moore took the lighter and lit the cigarette for her.
Their faces were very close, one’s gaze blurred, the other looking down, not daring to look her in the eyes.
Titus Zane took a puff, then slowly exhaled towards Nathan Moore’s handsome face. Nathan, about to put away the lighter, paused seeing his black eyes narrow slightly, danger flickering within them.
