Luckily, at this moment, Beatrice Hargrave’s phone ringtone rang, interrupting the awkward topic.
Glancing at the caller ID, Beatrice Hargrave hesitated for a moment before answering the phone.
"Hello... Yes, I’m here, okay, I’ll give it to him right away..."
As she spoke, Beatrice Hargrave got up and walked to the card table, laying the phone out in front of Nicholas Croft, "Here, your lover is calling you!"
Nicholas Croft looked at her puzzled, but still took the phone and held it to his ear.

"Nicholas, where are you?" Through the receiver, Hannah Hargrave’s voice was like a spring, gentle and pleasant.

"Keep on playing then, pass the phone to Beatrice."
Nicholas Croft passed the phone back to Beatrice Hargrave, "Your sister wants to speak with you."
Beatrice Hargrave took it over, not in a hurry to talk, holding the phone while walking towards the window.
Since he had nothing to do, Titus Zane’s gaze stayed on Beatrice Hargrave. It might have been his imagination, but when Nicholas Croft returned the phone to her, Titus thought he saw a sneer on the corner of her lips.
"What’s the matter?" Farther from the card table, Beatrice Hargrave’s voice turned cold, the two words showing her impatience and disdain.
Hannah Hargrave’s voice also became harsh, no longer the tenderness from before.
"Beatrice Hargrave, don’t think that dad bringing you home means he wants to acknowledge you! If you hadn’t caused such a big mess, dad wouldn’t have bothered with you! I warn you! Have some self-awareness, don’t delude yourself into thinking you can snatch Nicholas away!"
After hanging up the phone, Beatrice Hargrave clutched her phone tightly in her palm and looked out the window at the night sky through the glass, the sneer at the corner of her lips growing wider.
Ha! She’s going to see who’s really delusional, Hannah Hargrave or herself!
As she passed by the card table, Beatrice Hargrave stopped, rested one hand on Nicholas Croft’s shoulder, and raised her phone with the other, taking a selfie of them. Nicholas Croft cooperated and, right before Beatrice pressed the button, turned his handsome face towards the camera and curved his lips into a smile.
After taking the selfie, Beatrice Hargrave returned to the sofa, sat down, and didn’t continue to interact with Titus Zane but started typing a message on her phone.
Seeing the photo of the man and woman in the social media feed, Hannah Hargrave was so angry she almost smashed her phone. That bitch’s child actually dared to compete with her over Nicholas, without considering her own worth – what utterly wishful thinking!
After posting on social media, Beatrice Hargrave put away her phone, walked over to the card table, and propped against the back of the empty chair next to Nicholas Croft, saying, "Gentlemen, please continue, it’s getting late. I should head back, or father will worry."
The other three didn’t show much reaction, but Nicholas Croft raised his hand to grab her wrist, making her move in front of the chair and sit down.
"I’ve already told Mr. Hargrave that I’d send you back later."
As soon as Nicholas Croft finished speaking, Beatrice Hargrave frowned in agitation.
