Perhaps because it only handled research, with the results sent to a factory below for production, the institute was actually a small laboratory.
A few staff members responsible for research and design sat each at a computer, their nimble fingers tapping on the keyboard, calculating data she couldn’t understand.
In another lab, a few staff members in white coats were engrossed in something at their desks.
Logically speaking, Titus Zane should have been happy to be brought here by Wesley, as it brought her one step closer to what she wanted. However, the closer she got, the more she struggled internally, even feeling somewhat uneasy.
So she spent the whole afternoon in a daze, not paying much attention to the discussion going on between Wesley and the institute’s researchers.
Titus Zane only knew that Wesley, when working on the research for the new product with the staff, was very serious. He put on a white coat, positioned glasses on the bridge of his nose... Shedding the aura of the company’s top executive, among the few people here, he was just an ordinary researcher.
Talking with them, exchanging thoughts, expressing his opinions, and at the same time, he would seriously listen to theirs...
Titus Zane also donned a white coat, stood by Wesley’s side, watching the man working intently, her mind wandering, her conscience still intact, telling her that she shouldn’t deceive a man who worked so diligently.

The usual tone, simple words, yet they gave the illusion that they were a couple, or husband and wife, her accompanying him, and after work was done, they would go home together.
In the amused gazes of the few researchers, Titus Zane passively left with Wesley, his hand leading hers, following his steady pace out of the institute.
The feeling was hard to articulate; it was both comforting and anxious, but most of all, conflicted.
Before starting the car, Wesley said.
"I brought you here to let you see what my work is usually like, sometimes for a satisfying product, we’ll work tirelessly for days and nights..."
At this point, Wesley turned his gaze away, the affection evident in his warm eyes, meeting Titus Zane’s slightly panicked eyes, Wesley said, "Do you kind of me?"
Looked steadily at Wesley, her slightly parted lips revealing her reluctance.
Yes, she was touched by compassion, how could she bear to steal the results of the hard work of such a deeply affectionate and seemingly perfect man?
