Pushing the duck soup in front of Mia Foster, Felix Shaw said, "Eat more, it’s more attractive for a woman to have some flesh."
"Felix," Mia Foster hesitated, then said, looking at Felix Shaw, "Are you this attentive to all women?"
Felix Shaw paused in the act of picking up some food, looked up with a smile, and teased, "Are you jealous?"
Mia Foster shook her head, then saw Felix Shaw’s gaze, and heard him say, "Not anymore, I’ll only be attentive to you from now on."
"Ha," Mia Foster laughed, looked at Felix Shaw, and said with disdain, "What a smooth talker."
"Didn’t you just try it out? Are my lips and tongue really that smooth?"
Felix Shaw cracked a joke; Mia Foster blushed, hung her head, and ladled a spoonful of duck soup, the delicate fragrance spreading in her mouth, reaching deep into her heart.
After dropping Mia Foster off at the company, Felix Shaw said as she got out of the car, "I’ll pick you up tonight to watch a movie together."
Clutching the bouquet of roses, Mia Foster lifted the corners of her lips, "Okay."
Watching Mia Foster enter the company’s gates, the smile disappeared from Felix Shaw’s face, he sighed heavily, slapped his hand on the steering wheel, a gesture of helplessness and powerlessness.
He couldn’t wait to get back to the office before calling his father, "Dad, I’ve got Mia Foster sorted out, don’t forget what you promised me."
Oliver Shaw’s serious voice came through the receiver, "I’ve said, as long as she doesn’t make a scene, I’ll turn a blind eye."
After hanging up, Felix Shaw drove the sports car away.
Back in the office, Mia Foster asked her secretary to bring a vase and she placed the roses one by one inside it. Counting them, there were exactly nine.
All afternoon, every time Mia Foster looked up at the roses on her desk, the corners of her lips would unconsciously lift.
Before leaving work, she received a call from Felix Shaw who told her he would be late because of overtime, and if she was eager, she could also go to his company to find him.
Ending the call with Felix, Mia Foster called her mother to tell her she wouldn’t be home for dinner tonight as she was going to watch a movie with a friend.
Evelyn Bailey was very puzzled; her daughter had just returned to the country and had no friends in T city... After repeated questioning, Mia Foster finally said it was Felix Shaw who had asked her out to dinner, then to watch a movie.
"Aren’t you going to call off the engagement?"

After speaking with her mother, and with the workday almost over, Mia Foster took out her mirror for a quick look, touched up her lipstick, and then picked up her purse and left the office.
Felix was still working overtime; she didn’t want him to tire himself coming to pick her up, so she decided to go and keep him company.
Upon arriving at Hutton Group, as she emerged from the elevator, she came face to face with Oliver Shaw. Hesitating for a moment, Mia Foster took the initiative to greet, "Uncle Shaw."
Oliver Shaw pretended to be puzzled and asked, "Is that you, Mia? Why are you here at the company?"
"Oh, I’m here to see Felix." Although a little embarrassed, joy was unmistakable on Mia Foster’s face.
"To see Felix? But aren’t you two calling off the engagement?"
