After working all afternoon and putting in some overtime, Felix Shaw finally left the company.
When he got home, his mother Melody Zachary was sitting on the sofa waiting for him to have dinner together.
"Felix, why did you just get back? You didn’t even call home when working overtime, the dishes are all cold now."
"Mom, how many times have I said, you and dad don’t have to wait for me." Felix Shaw closed the door, and the family’s maid had already brought the shoe rack in front of him.
"Oh, your dad has social obligations tonight, I don’t have an appetite to eat alone."
Melody Zachary got up from the sofa and walked towards the dining room, "Go wash your hands, the dishes are cold, I’ll ask Mrs. Xu to heat them up."
Felix Shaw paused as he was taking off his shoes, "Dad has social obligations tonight?" In front of him, the maid had set up the shoe rack and took his briefcase from his hands.
"Yes, he said an old friend from out of town came over, and he needs to entertain."
As Melody spoke, she helped Mrs. Xu bring the food back to the kitchen. Felix Shaw changed out of his shoes and came in, taking off his coat with a thoughtful frown.
