Felix Shaw seldomly extends an invite, so Mia Foster quickly wraps up her work, freshens up simply, and heads down to wait by the company building with her bag in tow.
About ten minutes later, Felix’s car pulls up, no longer that ostentatious sports car, but a stately Bentley instead.
Seeing Felix lower the car window, Mia strolls over languidly, and after getting into the passenger seat, she asks with a smile, "What made you think to bring me to the construction site?"
Before starting the car, Felix glances over and says, "I promised before, to take you to the groundbreaking ceremony, but then..." he shrugs his shoulders, "so now I’m taking you to see the construction site as a way to make amends."
Mia laughs, "I didn’t expect you to be a man of your word."
"Of course," Felix replies with a smug lift of his eyebrows. The mention of the ceremony reminds Mia of that unpleasant past. Because he had rushed off, she had proposed they break off the engagement...
Their relationship has been harmonious lately. Although Felix is busy, he occasionally finds time for a meal together, but—

I’ll bring her home for a shared bliss, switching between two women to take care of me. How comfortable that would be."
"In your dreams!" Mia responds with a tap on Felix’s head, not very heavy. What was a serious conversation has been completely derailed by him. He catches her wrist and pins it down to the steering wheel, as Mia, once again serious, says, "Felix, I mean it. If we get married and you fall for another woman, tell me, and I’ll let you go."
"You’re such a hassle. We’re not even married yet. If I did find someone new, at most it would be considered cheating. No one would think you’re a fool."
Suppressing the turmoil in his heart, Felix casually replies, then looks over once more, winking suggestively, "Tell me truthfully, do you dream about marrying me, huh?"
What was meant as a joke is answered earnestly by Mia. Looking at Felix’s smirking profile, she nods, "Yes, I want to marry you, to take care of you, to give you a warm home."
If they got married, even if she found out about her father, Oliver Shaw, having an affair, perhaps Felix wouldn’t be as hurt?
After all, she would be there to comfort him, and they would have their own warm home.
At Mia’s words, Felix lets out a scoff as if unimpressed, "You talk as if I’m some giant baby that can’t look after himself, lacking attention and love," and with that, he nudges Mia with his shoulder, teasingly asking, "Hey, tell me, did you find out something? Do you think I’m pitiful and want to offer comfort?"
