In the noisy metropolis, the slow rock bar is not very crowded, Felix Shaw leans in the booth, incessantly downing beer.
On the stage, the Singer is performing a sad melody, the voice so mournful, just like Felix’s mood at the moment.
Seeing Felix continuing to guzzle his drink, the egg-yolk-colored liquid dribbling down the corner of his mouth, Mia Foster raised her hand to avoid his beer bottle, "Felix, stop drinking. Everyone has their own choices. Although you’re Aunt’s son, there are some decisions you have no right to interfere with."
"Heh," Felix laughed, coming to the bar to drown his sorrows, wanting to drink himself to death and be rid of the pain. But the more beer he drank, the clearer his head became, "Mia, tell me... am I the most pitiful person in the world?"

"Then don’t go back," Mia Foster said indifferently, but Felix’s emotions started to flare up. Suddenly he turned his gaze towards her, "You speak so casually, but that’s my home, the home I’ve lived in for twenty-seven years. Where can I go if I don’t go back? I’m just an ordinary person, I want a home, a warm home,"
With his eyes red, Felix stared at Mia Foster. Seeing her look back calmly and without much emotion, he suddenly realized his own loss of control and picked up the beer bottle again, raising it to his lips and saying, "Sorry," before tilting his head and taking another big gulp.
Watching Felix clearly in agony yet stubbornly holding back, Mia Foster said, "If you’re feeling down, just cry it out. It might make you feel better."
"You won’t laugh at me?" Felix turned his eyes again, and Mia Foster shook her head, "I lend you my shoulder."
Felix curled his lip, his eyes visibly reddening, "Too frail to bear the weight," yet despite saying so, he still wrapped his arms around Mia Foster across the little table.
His handsome face buried in the crook of her neck, like a lost child. Though no sound came out, the summer attire was light, and Mia Foster could clearly feel it was damp and warm there.
Placing a hand on Felix’s back, Mia Foster gently patted, "Felix, you still have me. I won’t betray you. If you want, you can consider my parents as your mom and dad. They’ll love and care for you just the same..."
"Yeah, I know." Felix nodded, his voice clearly nasal.
Suddenly bursting into a forceful sob, he said, "Mia Foster, let’s get married. I want a warm home..."
Mia Foster’s comforting hand paused, opening wide but still resting on his back. The hand holding the car keys tightened and loosened, then after a moment of hesitation, she said, "Felix, marriage is not child’s play. We are only engaged now, and if we have second thoughts, we can still break it off, but once we’re married, if we regret it, the only option would be divorce..."
"I know," Felix had already lifted up his face, his chin resting on Mia Foster’s shoulder as he looked ahead, his handsome brow furrowed, his eyes still tinged with red, his hands hugging Mia Foster tightly.
