Watching Mia Foster silently leave, Felix Shaw hesitated for a moment, then quickly chased after her, lifting her up and heading towards his parking spot.
During their time together, she had always been domineering towards him. Today, it was his turn to be domineering!
"Felix Shaw, have you lost your mind!" Mia Foster exclaimed, not caring about the astonished looks from the passersby, a tear hanging at the corner of her mouth. Strong women shedding tears occasionally made men feel even more heartache.
"Yes! Mia Foster, I’m crazy, but I’m only crazy for you!" Felix Shaw grit his teeth, opened the passenger door, shoved Mia into the seat, buckled her seatbelt, slammed the door, and then swiftly walked to the driver’s side. As Mia Foster unbuckled her seatbelt and began to open the passenger door, Felix had already started the engine.
Looking forward coldly, he said, "If you don’t want to become disabled, just sit down properly!"
Mia Foster knew that jumping from a moving car was dangerous. Even if she didn’t want to spend her life with him, she wouldn’t joke about her own body. She closed the door and asked,
"Felix Shaw, what exactly do you want?"
"I don’t want anything, it’s just that Mom has fallen ill missing you, and has been nagging to visit you at the company."
With a powerless sigh, Mia turned her face towards the window.
As the Maserati slowly entered the residential complex, watching the familiar apartment building, Mia Foster couldn’t quite discern her feelings, as she had never planned to return when she packed up and left that day, yet today she was forcefully brought back by Felix Shaw.
After parking the car, Felix Shaw quickly got out, opened the passenger door again, and firmly grabbed Mia’s hand as if he was worried she might run away, and led her briskly into the apartment building.
In the elevator, the expressions of both were unusually similar, both wore a chilly demeanor facing forward.
Mia Foster thought that Felix was lying, with the sole purpose of tricking her back. However, seeing Melody Zachary lying on the sofa, her brow unconsciously furrowed tighter.
In less than a month, Melody Zachary had become much thinner, already a petite woman, she seemed even frailer after losing weight.
Seeing her son bringing her daughter-in-law back, she hurriedly got up from the sofa, walked over happily and grabbed Mia’s hand, saying with a smile, "Mia, you’re back? Felix, why didn’t you call ahead? I didn’t prepare dinner."
Seating Mia on the sofa, Melody started heading to the kitchen, "Mia, take a break first, you’ve been working all day. I’ll go cook now."
"Mom, you’re not feeling well, don’t bother." Felix Shaw pressed his mother to sit down on the sofa, took Mia’s handbag and hung it on the rack, "Mia, sit and chat with Mom, I’ll call for a takeaway."
"Do we have ingredients at home? I’ll cook instead."
Mia Foster also stood up, unsure of what to discuss with Melody in the current situation.
"Mia, come back," Melody also stood up, "You’ve had a long day, go rest in your bedroom with Felix, Mom will cook, I’ve been cooped up at home all day and it’s driving me nuts."
Watching Melody’s frail figure heading to the kitchen, Mia felt a pang of pity, "Felix, take Mom to the room to rest for a while, I’ll prepare dinner."
Since the day she planned to get divorced, she had changed her way of addressing her to Auntie. Today, seeing that Melody looked unwell, clearly as if she had suffered a major illness, out of pity Mia addressed her as "Mom" again.
"Mom, please go rest in your room, if you’re not feeling well let Mia cook." Mia Foster offered to cook dinner, and Felix Shaw was naturally delighted; he helped his mother back into the room and followed Mia into the kitchen.
