Blake Carter is a very diligent employee, perhaps because of Vanessa Armstrong’s special status. After his transfer, he took over all the tasks like serving tea and making coffee that a secretary would typically do, and Vanessa Armstrong also seemed to trust him a lot, often calling him to the office when free to explain those documents she couldn’t make head or tail of.
The dinner to thank Manager Wang was disrupted by Felix Shaw, which made Mia Foster feel sorry. She took the opportunity during lunch break to visit Manager Wang’s office again.

"No need, no need, Manager Mia, no need to be so formal," upon hearing Mia Foster still intended to treat him, Manager Wang hurriedly waved his hand to decline. Mia Foster, surprised by his strong reaction, watched as he got up and said, "Manager Mia, I apologize, I just remembered the general manager is coming for an inspection this afternoon. I need to check things out, can’t afford any mistakes then."
With Manager Wang saying this, Mia Foster had no choice but to bid farewell. As they left the office together, Manager Wang continued to say, "Manager Mia, you don’t need to worry about the counter issue, since you rented a counter in our department store, you’ve already paid the rent..."
Mia Foster understood that, after yesterday’s incident with Felix Shaw, Manager Wang didn’t want to get into any trouble. As she walked out of the department store with the polite goodbyes, Mia inadvertently sighed, realizing that the divorce issue needed to be resolved quickly.
Both families were reputable in T City, and unless absolutely necessary, she didn’t want to resort to legal proceedings.
A whirlwind marriage and quick divorce are not exactly honorable, and if the divorce went to court, the upper echelons of T City would understand instantly. The recent online rumors accusing her of being a malicious fan were actually about confronting Felix Shaw’s mistress!
She wasn’t trying to maintain Felix Shaw’s image, but as a wife, having her newlywed husband keeping a mistress outside was equally disgraceful for her.
Thus, she could only handle the divorce quietly, not wanting to become a joke throughout T City.
Felix Shaw has been rather busy these days. Seeing Vanessa Armstrong with her assistant and overhearing them discussing work even when passing by occasionally,
Felix Shaw always felt that this woman was ambitious, unlike his mother who was willing to be the woman behind the man, and his father Oliver Shaw listened to this woman too much. Having met with a few shareholders a few times again, it was still the same; he wanted them to transfer some company shares to him, but the answer was always no.
Hutton Industries is now a Fortune 500 company, with annual profit dividends alone enough to fill one’s hands. The old shareholders hold the original shares at a lower price, and now with such substantial dividends, who would want to give away the meat in their bowl!
His mother, Melody Zachary, had agreed to transfer her shares to him, but even combined with his own shares, it was still nearly ten points less than his father Oliver Shaw’s. Imagining that one day his father might hand over his power to that woman was something Felix Shaw couldn’t accept.
