"Third Brother, opportunities are created by oneself! Big Brother, Second Brother, don’t you agree?" Evander turned to Nicholas and Nathan, both of whom merely smiled faintly without saying anything, each lost in their thoughts, not in the mood to care about others’ business.
"How do you create them?" Felix put down the teapot and asked unhappily, obviously showing his mood. Mia wouldn’t even give him a chance to be alone with her, let alone make a move.
"Isn’t today an opportunity," Evander said with intention, then beckoned Felix over with a finger. Felix stood up and leaned in to listen to some whispered words, then sat back down. "Will this work?"
"If Mia holds you in her heart, she won’t just stand by and do nothing. But if she truly ignores you, then you really need to be careful!"
When it came to the ways of relationships, Evander spoke with authority, like a relationship expert. Meanwhile, the service had begun bringing out the dishes, and Mia returned from the restroom.
When men gather to eat, alcohol is always involved. Felix ordered two bottles of Maotai, poured some for his brothers, and then poured juice for his mother and Mia.
"Mom, although this year is special, your son hopes you live happily just like before," Felix raised his glass and stood up, "forget all those unpleasant things. From now on, I’ll celebrate your birthday with you every year."
"Okay, okay," Melody replied happily, nodding continuously. She couldn’t help but feel a mix of emotions; every previous birthday was celebrated with the three of them together. This year saw the addition of a daughter-in-law but the absence of an important figure in her heart. After more than thirty years of companionship, there’s suddenly someone missing. Although she felt disheartened, on such an important day, a touch of sadness was inevitable.
The brothers stood up as well, clinking glasses and taking big swigs of the white liquor.
Melody picked up a piece of food and placed it on Mia’s plate, "Mia, eat more, the food here is delicious."

"Mind your own business!" Felix glared back annoyed.
Mia regretted coming to the birthday party, perhaps she shouldn’t have come at all.
