In the hospital, Melody Zachary was on an IV drip. Felix Shaw followed Evander Lancaster to his office and sat down on the opposite side of the desk. Evander tossed a cigarette over, "Bro, last night was exciting, right? Did you strain your old back?"
Felix caught the cigarette tossed by Evander and glanced over coldly, "I drank too much, didn’t do anything."

The cigarette, about to be brought to his lips, paused, his expression incredulous, "Wow! You wasted such a good opportunity!"
Felix Shaw said nothing, silently lighting the cigarette at his lips.
"Bro, did your wife leave right after sending you back?" Evander asked, blowing out a puff of smoke, not quite believing it.
"No," Felix also took a puff, his downcast gaze hiding his disappointment.
"Then why didn’t you make a move? Was your wife unwilling?"
"Yeah," Felix said casually after another drag, "She said if I forced her, it’d really be over for us."
"Damn! And you believe such a stalling tactic!" Evander said, frustrated at Felix’s naivety. Felix suddenly looked up, "You think Melody is lying to me?"
Evander blew out another smoke ring, looking at the man across with obvious disdain, "Whether or not she’s lying, I don’t know, but bro, with your intelligence, you’re destined to be single forever!"
Felix went silent again, continuing to smoke quietly, "Doesn’t matter if Melody is lying or not, I don’t want to force her..." He muttered after another drag, "I’ve already made her sad and disappointed."
Evander was speechless. Emotionally clueless men are hopeless. So he couldn’t be bothered to give more advice. Just then, after taking another drag, he suddenly remembered, "Oh right, bro, just remembered something,"
"What?" Felix looked up again, only to see Evander smiling mischievously, "Congratulations, bro, you’re going to have another cute little brother or sister."

It took him a while to react, "You mean..."
"Yeah, your stepmom is pregnant, last night Uncle Shaw called to get me back to the hospital."
Felix withdrew his gaze, lowering his eyes and taking a hard drag. Opposite, Evander continued, "Bro, not to sound alarmist, but once that woman gives birth to a little prince, Uncle Shaw’s shares might be in jeopardy."
Seeing Felix remain silent, head down, Evander asked, "What’s going on with the additional share allotment? Still not approved?"
"It’s been approved, implementation is set for early next month."
"That’s good," Evander nodded, taking another drag, "Just make sure you don’t go soft when the time comes."
"I won’t." Felix narrowed his eyes slightly, taking a determined drag. If he had hesitated before, now that the woman has another bargaining chip, there would be no hesitation.
The two men smoked silently. Evander flicked away his cigarette butt, "Bro, your mother was fine last night, how did she suddenly come down with a fever?"
Felix stubbed his cigarette in the ashtray, "I’m not sure either, half-listened to my mom saying she wanted to go out for a bit. When she came back, I have no idea..."
Melody was admitted to the hospital, professionally cared for without fussing to go home, yet in the past few days, she became melancholy. Felix asked what happened, but she refused to say.
