Titus Zane’s heart shattered along with Logan Ray’s faltering body, fragmented and broken.
In haste, he steadied Logan Ray to prevent him from falling, his voice trembling as he spoke, "Logan..."
"Titus," Logan Ray murmured softly, burying his heavy head into Titus Zane’s neck, inhaling deeply the scent that belonged uniquely to Titus Zane, his eyes becoming wet again.
"Don’t leave me... I miss you..."
"Logan..." Titus Zane whispered Logan Ray’s name again, tears already silently falling.
She missed him just as much.
Childhood sweethearts, both mentor and friend as well as lovers, a bond that had seeped into their marrow, not so easily severed.
During the rare moments when Nathan Moore wasn’t too rough, she would even close her eyes and imagine he was Logan Ray. Though she felt shameless and even sleazy, she still deceived herself.
Watching the two embracing, Ava Charles took a deep breath and pursed her lips, feeling reluctant to part, yet quietly walked away.
Loving someone shouldn’t be about selfish possession, if the other is happy, she would follow that happiness.
"Logan, I’ll take you home..." After embracing for a while, Titus Zane dabbed at the tears on her face and patted Logan Ray’s back, saying softly.
"Don’t, I... want to be with you..." Logan Ray, drunk, clung to Titus Zane like a needy child, refusing to let go.
Wanted to push Logan Ray away, yet couldn’t bear to, wanted to hold him tight, but halted just before touching his back, her hands hovering in the air at Logan Ray’s waist.
Because reason reminded her, she shouldn’t get any closer to Logan Ray, although she still loved him.
Yet, she couldn’t bear to push him away either.
They were at a standoff for a few minutes, then Titus Zane pat Logan Ray’s back again, saying softly.
"Logan, I’ll call your older brother to come pick you up."
"No..." Logan Ray mumbled into Titus Zane’s shoulder.
"Logan!" Titus Zane frowned, her voice becoming stern, they couldn’t just sit in the bar forever!
Who knew, as soon as Titus Zane said this, Logan Ray suddenly burst out, pushing her arms away and flailing wildly in the air.
"You go! You go! Don’t bother with me! Better to drink to death than to hurt anymore..." Logan Ray became emotional, sweeping several empty glasses off the bar onto the floor, making a crisp sound.
"Logan, don’t be !" Titus Zane reached for Logan Ray’s hand, but was flung away.
"You go!" Logan Ray’s eyes reddened, "Since you don’t want to be with me, don’t bother with me! Go away! Go find your brother-in-law!"
The man, having drunk, had lost all measure in his actions and speech; Titus Zane let out an alarmed cry as she was thrown onto the ground by Logan Ray.
With her hands braced against the ground, Logan Ray had already slid off the high stool in his haste.
Drunk and sliding hurriedly, he fell to the ground; the shards of broken glass pierced through his trousers into his skin, but he didn’t care, hastily grabbing Titus Zane’s hand to pull it before him, his expression frantic and distressed.
"Titus, sorry, I didn’t mean it, let me see, if you’re hurt... sorry..."
Logan Ray spoke incoherently, then repeatedly blew on Titus Zane’s bleeding hand.
"Good, good, I’m sorry," Logan Ray continued blowing on her hand, murmuring incoherently.
The bar staff couldn’t stand to watch anymore, pushing open the side door to come out.
"Miss, this gentleman is bleeding, should I call an ambulance?"
Reminded by the staff, Titus Zane then noticed the blood seeping out from under Logan Ray, with the help of the staff, she got Logan Ray up, compensated for the broken glasses, then supported him as they left the bar.
